0 times 4 is still 0?

Too bad rich corporations don't go to jail like other people.

I define improper as any contribution to the campaign of a candidate whose ideology differs from my own.

No, that's just a STUPID contribution. Not improper.

Is it a matter of more illegal donations, or more employees who report illegal donations that they didn't know were illegal before?

And it's gone up by 300%, not 400%. From one percent of employees reporting to four percent.

Because they're the Job Kreators.

You said illegal three times.

No donation is illegal. They are just undocumented.

2012-01-12 01:35:11 PM
Give it another year or two and they won't be illegal anymore.

2012-01-12 01:35:45 PM
The donations are just doing the jobs that legal donations don't want to do.

FTFA: "It is certainly the case that more employees are aware of the regulations. ... Companies are doing more training programs than they ever have in the past," said Patricia Harned, the president of the Ethics Resource Center. "What is so striking about this number is that when you look across [the study], the trend in general misconduct went down."

Up, down, up, down, some body's getting screwed.

The stuff that is legal is scarier than the illegal donations.

i'm still unclear why a corporation should ever be donating to a politician. I realize the supreme court disagree's with me, but i don't think we can allow an entity to have the rights of a human being if it doesn't have a single conscious to control it

Just because it's illegal doesn't mean it's improper.

Hey Dumbassmitter, duping an entire electorate into voting against their own economic self-interests doesn't come cheap.

"They feel increasing pressure from the politicians to hand over money or else their business or their interests are going to be hurt," said Meredith McGehee, policy director at the Campaign Legal Center. "It's even more true now post-Citizens United because there is no limit on the amount that someone can be expected to hand over."

Don't we all just wish we could go back to a simpler, more honest time in America? Back to the day when the only person gouging you for protection money was Don Corleone?

Starting a pool on what percentage of the four percent can define illegal contribution. Want in?

You know I could picture ideologues* abusing the system in exactly that manner.

*Originally said "Freepers", but I guess moonbats could also do it.

//Meant Freepers, though.

Yeah - they're saying Obama's going to spend almost a billion dollars this time around.
