I honestly didn't have much of a problem with her, until I saw this. Fishing for sharks I can kind of get on board with, but only from a catch-and-release perspective. There's absolutely NO reason to kill a shark these days, especially a hammerhead. Their populations have crashed, they don't taste very good, and you can get a fiberglass model made of your catch more easily than you can a real skin-mount, using just a photo and approximate dimensions.

Given the liberalness she displays most of the time, I honestly can't see her justification for doing something so exceptionally redneck as this. Suddenly I am very much in agreement with the oft-applied hypocrite tag.

On a serious note, it's more because of her hypocrisy. The Tom Selleck incident on her show is a perfect example: She goes on about how gun owners should be thrown in jail, yet at the same time she hires armed guards to protect her and her family. Pure, unadulterated hypocrisy.

Well, they could do the novel approach of cutting the line if its a hammerhead. They don't have to land it and kill it.

Hammerhead sharks are considered overfished around the globe, being highly sought after to serve the ravenous demand in China for shark fin soup. Florida banned the catch of three species of hammerhead, although the ban took effect only on Jan. 1, long after O'Donnell's excursions.

There seems to be a recent push for more animal cruelty punishments, and when i see how picky some people are it really confounds me. Animals in feed lots have a miserable existence their entire freaking lives, and yet no one but PETA seems to get that. Animals that are hunted or fished, on the other hand, at least have a good life up to the point they get murdered.

Theres lots of great reasons to criticize Rosie odonell. This ain't really one of them.
