I'm just curious to know exactly who Gingrich is going to blame when he loses in South Carolina. My guess is that he'll blame "evil liberal media" for not taking his schtick seriously and/or giving Romney a "free ride."

The conservative alternatives', Gingrich and Perry, going after Romney on the issue of 'Vulture Capitalism' (love that) is gift-wrapped for the Obama campaign.

Oh, come on now. I think Newt's a human puddle of slime, but the guy's just giving back what he got. Romney had his superPACs run endless anti-Gingrich commercials in Iowa, pointing out that Newt Gingrich was, well, Newt Gingrich. This basically destroyed his candidacy.

Shouldn't Gingrich be able to run ads pointing out that Romney is Mitt Romney? Just because the GOP elite has settled on the human political weathervane doesn't mean he should get a free ride.

/Besides, the lulz are awesome.

To be fair, since Romney literally is all of the things Gingrich is accusing him of, this line of attack was more or less inevitable. Probably best to try to get it out of the way quickly, which might be the plan here, assuming there is an overall plan for the GOP to actually try for the seat (something I honestly kind of doubt, actually).
