You guys are sick and you disgust me. You know who you are. And stop touching yourself.

This just in ... Octomom calls her an amateur

Beat the odds how? I wouldn't want quadruplets unless I could also afford to have someone take care of them for me as well.

Poor boy. 5 years is too big an age gap to be enjoying the benefits of sisters who can bring home female friends. He'll have 4 girls running around and teasing him and he won' t know which is which.

He'll no doubt turn gay due to the overinfluence of females.

Disappointed there are no pics of babies. I wonder why they deliver them so early? Was she about to assplode?

Oddly the last part of your statement is what I was thinking in a roundabout way. Imagine the fun they will be able to have at school though. Oh the trouble they will be able to unleash.

Out of 6 billion this should happen 462 times or .00227% of live births.

I don't know, 5 years seems like enough of a gap to avoid those types of problems.
Then again, I don't have a sister.

/would purposefully give each one a distinctive scar on the wrist to tell them apart.

I think the odds were for those that are carrying 4 babies, how many times all 4 are identical.

Quadmother beats identical odds of 13 million to one

Apparently, there are roughly 134 million people born each year, so you'd expect this sort of thing to happen a bit less than once a month (10 times a year). Chances are, though, that most don't survive.

Well, like i said above. I believe its of all quadruplets, there is a 13 million to one chance of them all being identical. It is worded poorly in the article.

What the hell kind of names are those for identical quadruplets?!

No. From now on, their names are Casey, Lacey, Stacey, and Tracey.

2/10 but only for the misspelling.

I once saw a lady who had quadruplets that consisted of two pairs of identical twins, one pair of boys, one pair of girls. Somewhere a statistician's head just asploded.

Surely I deserve credit for my careful use of superscript. I appeal this decision on the grounds that troll scores are lame.

A five year gap is great! I grew up with sisters 4 & 2 years older and 2 & 3 years younger. The only way I could get a date with someone they didn't know was to go to college out-of-state!

How can they tell if newborn babies are identical? They all look pretty much the same right out of the gate.

To quote one of Reno's Finest "In 18 years that'll be one HELL of a tag team..."

When I was a teenager I used to babysit for a lady that had identical twin girls. The mom said after they were a month old she had no idea which one was which.
They had their ears pierced and different colored stones in the earrings to tell them apart. She picked a name and assigned a color, said she had a fifty fifty chance of having gotten it right.
I sat for her for months and never could tell them apart by looks but noticed that Mary made fists with her thumbs tucked inside and Alice with her thumbs outside. There were differences, but they were miniscule.

Foxxinnia: How can they tell if newborn babies are identical? They all look pretty much the same right out of the gate.

They count the sacks when they do the ultrasound.
My brother and his wife found out they were going to have fraternal twins cause there were two sacks, if they were identical there would only have been one.

Close, but not quite (new window). Fraternal twins will* have separate sacs and placentas. Identical twins might have separate placentas, and will probably have separate sacs.

* Almost always. Very little is cast in stone in biology; two separate (nonidentical) zygotes can even fuse to form a single chimeric individual.
