Brian VanGorder once told the media something along the lines of "If I can't win at Georgia Southern, then I'm not a good coach."

He then implemented an offensive game plan that his players had no chance in hell of being able to execute, and had multiple losing seasons. He was run out of town on a rail.

He's an all right coordinator, but he'll get itchy to move again in a couple of years. He's dying to be a head coach again, but he's horrible at it.

There is a tiny chance that Atlanta might blindly lurch around in the dark and accidentally hire competent coaches. Nobody wants that.
