They don't scurry when something bigger comes their way
Don't pack themselves together and run as one
Don't sh*t where they're not supposed to
Don't take what's not theirs, they don't compare

Dc doesn't have a subway. It has a metro. And it's spotless compared to the mta.

That looks like a rat I saw near Buff State. It was running across Amherst Street. I thought it was a cat, then I saw the tail.

No kitty, kitty. I'm hiding inside now.

I wish I'd had a camera when I saw mine. I was somewhere downtown, Canal St. I think, when I went down the steps to the subway platform. At the bottom of the stairs, in the dim light, I saw a cat nosing around. "aw, kitty!" I thought, and proceeded until I was about halfway down and realized that what I was looking at was not a cat, but a rat the size of a cat. Without breaking stride, I said "fark this", and made a U-turn right back up the steps. I have never before nor since seen anything like that.

That's happened to me a couple of times in Vancouver, but with other wildlife. Hey, a kitty! Oh.... no, that's a skunk. And I'm backing away now.

The NYC subway is a disgrace. And so is the DC metro.

If this is the best the US can offer in terms of public transportation systems, Americans' dislike for those systems becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

They both really need a massive cash injection just to buy a crap-load of new, modern cars.

The cars on the N,Q,M,L and F trains are all very modern. The MTA is currently testing/reviewing new cars for the 7 and there are constant minor improvements in most stations and platforms. It's not perfect, but far from a "disgrace".

/can't wait for new 7 cars
