Easier to mock-diss someone incapable of defending herself than an opponent who would routinely decimate you in an actual rap battle....Right,

Well, Rap isn't what it use to be, so why would the feuds be like it use to be. Kinda miss the good ole days when one rapper's posse would murder another rapper in the strip in Vegas. No we are stuck with Kenya

These guys are WEALTHY. Does anyone believe that either of them would get into an altercation with so much damn money at stake? Puleeez, these two are so removed from da hood, they probably vote Republican. That being said, pic was funny, and didn't appear insulting to me.

Speaking of..............
Ludacris - Bada Boom
Luda has no place to talk, himself, to be honest... but the first two minute of the video
will be a pour-some-on-the-sidewalk
walk down memory lane for those of those
who are old enough to remember....
(and the chick looks like how the real leelo should have looked, i'm just saying, no disrespect to the goddess jovavich)
also
Common tries to make a statement...... I don't know if he succeeds or not: Stay Scheming
/I like Drake, that makes me a sucka,
//and his
Best I Ever Had
(new window) video is glorious
///maybe one day Common and Drake will make up like Cube, Dre, Ren and Eazy made up...
//is Uncle Luke still mad, or did he make up with everyone, too?
/remember when Kool Moe Dee running over LL's kangol was the ultimate unthinkable?

Rap died when Biggie and 2Pac died. Now it is just club hop or sloppy "dirty south" lazy ass bullshiat.
Rap never really had any talent, but it had good beats and actually had some kind of lyrical points in teh 80's and 90's (Public Enemy, EPMD, Ice-T Ice Cube, Too $hort, 2Pac, DJ Quik, et al). Now, it sounds like baby talk when they "rap", no flow, no real hooks or anything that resembles what made rap any good...like they just picked some farking crack head off the street and gave the dumb ass a mic and generated lame beats behind it. If it isn't that style, it that pure crap they also do with that "club/jersey shore style" rap. Autotune outta tune.
And it's only going to get worse...

All those 80s groups you mention rose to fame in the 90s if a few had a little exposure in the 80s.
Your list fails without RUN DMC, Erik B and Rakim, Schooly D, Ice T, Fat Boys, KRS ONE, LL COOL J, SLICK RICK, Third Bass, Big Daddy Kane, Too live, and a ton of others who were doing it before and better.

Died with Biggie and 2pac? Wtf they weren't even two of the best. Biggie died rapping about a mafia obsession which was getting stupid. 2pac was too busy pouring champagne on biatches. Both we're and are overhyped, biggie more than 2pac.

And, if the rap scene starts putting some effort behind talented musicians like Sage Francis, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Greyskul, EL-P, Ko-s, Living Legends, MURS, and P.O.S, then rap wouldn't be so god-awful.

Yes, died. They might have not been the "best", but my point still stands. Rap died when they did (name any rapper after them that was worth a fark).

Excluding their contemporaries(Mos Def,WTC's GZA and Inspectah Deck,Talib Kweli,Common,Nas,Big Boi,Black Thought et al)? Well, let's see: Jay Electronica,MF Doom and Soul Khan to name a few. The game might be an odious cesspool these days, but rest assured, there are still top-notch emcees-signed and unsigned-out there. One just has to dig a lot deeper to find them.

I would like to add Immortal Technique, Vinnie Paz and JMT, pretty much all of Army of the Pharoahs, Killer Mike, Brother Ali, Diabolic, and Aesop Rock. The people who say rap is dead need to stop listening to Lil Wayne and Drake and maybe expand their horizons.
