I like how Gingrich went from "OWSers are dirty hippies who need to take a bath and get a job" to "Romney's an evil, predatory capitalist."

Very flexible for a man of his age and girth.

Indeed. There is something to be said for girth control.

So actual lines from the Daily or Colbert shows are all that's required for a green?

Well, you can keep submitting them with what you consider to be the apex of your wit and humor, but yeah. Sometimes verbatim sells, man. They are funny guys, after all.

Shouldn't this be under enterainment since Stephen Colbert of the Colbert report is a fictional character on television who doesn't actually exist.

/yeah yeah he's played by an actor of the same name.

No, it's political because it's about a funny quip aimed at a politician. It's not about who said it.

Much like every other freakin' thread on the Poitics tab.

God is a fictional character, and is completely inseparable from US politics.

Yeah I'm trolling just a bit.

I still like how Jon pointed out that Mitt is the end result of everything the GOP dreams about.

And now that their ideals have taken human form, they're mad...

Is it because he is deeply religious and a Catholic?

"God" is a fictional character, which is why so many disciplines choose not to name the all pervasive essence which compliments both stupidity and wisdom with equal inevitability, from which people have become separate themselves, because they are rendered insensate by things like politics.

Uncle Pim: Sometimes I wonder if most "conservatives" actually believe what they say and instead mostly just like the label of "conservative".

Conservatism doesn't exist anymore There's only anti-liberalism. The "conservatives" in Washington and on tv have no ideas other than "Let's stick it to those evil libs!"

For further proof, check out the youtube videos of the Tea Party cheering as the US credit rating is downgraded.

The actual meanings of words aren't significant. It's how it makes people feel. Listen to Romney's NH victory speech again. He's painting a word picture with little relation to the meanings of the words he uses.

I rarely do this, but THIS.

I haven't heard such inscrutable word salad since Sarah Palin stopped giving speeches. All through it, and especially when he stopped for applause pauses, I kept saying to the TeeVee "What did any of that mean? Why are you people cheering that? He didn't say anything!"

I guess we're just twirling, twirling towards Freedom...

The modding has been godawful the past year or so. I mean, politics tab has always been troll-tastic, but now it's lazy just cut-n-paste greens.

Someone has to do it.

He really is the entirety of their platform made corporeal. I am just really happy that Stewart is pointing it out.

The other thing I can't get over is just how little charisma, personality, and sheer humanity Mitt has. The man is the closest thing to a robot I have ever seen in a political campaign. He makes John Kerry sound like Churchill. Not just what he says and how he acts, but HOW he talks and sounds.
