Regardless of Sanchez's effect on the team, throwing a teammate under the bus tells me the coach/coaching staff have absolutely no control over this team anymore, and everyone is out to get theirs.

Why would Manning go from a franchise that until this sucky season was a model of consistency and stability to a franchise that seems like it's full of back-stabbers, complainers and flakes, with a head coach more interested in being a quote machine than controlling the locker room?
Hint to New Yorkers: you ain't all that, not everyone is dying to come play there.

I think the smart thing is to wait on Peyton. Recently I had a close relation who experienced some nerve damage to the face.
According to the doctors, damaged nerves heal when they are ready to heal...doctors really cannot do much about it. For some it takes weeks, for others months and for some years. Moreover, it's not advisable to try and force a quick recovery because it could backfire.
Point is, this should be Peyton's third neck injury. At the rate he is going, the gamble could be too high.

There is, and it is 100% the fault of Rex Ryan. I loved the guy when he was with the Ravens, but that was when he was part of a team of coaches. Now that he's the head honcho, he's showing just how unqualified he is for it.

Amazing how these rumors can take off. Sanchez is sure taking a lot of flack over his performance. Anybody know how that trade would fly given the Jets' cap space? And Manning's neck may ground him forever.
Other than that, got nuthin.

haha. You say that now, since the giants managed to sneak into the playoffs. But truthfully, this should dissapoint you. They actually seem to be acknowledging their problems and are trying to fix them. This is actually a good thing.
That said. I dont want Peyton. Bring in a cheap vet who can compete for the job. Put him and sanchez against each other, and give sanchez a year to figure his shiat out. If he cant, then were done with him and we will move on. Sanchez has shown that he does better when theres some pressure. So keep the pressure up all season by making his job not so secure.
I agree wholeheartedly with the players who are saying Sanchez is babied. Its true. I mean, the team has not been constructively critical of him at all. He just hides behinds Rex.

Sanchez is no longer a rookie and should not be treated as such especially when he shows no signs of significant improvement. The Jets have a decent offensive line but if anyone gets through Sanchez looks completely confused...no poise in the pocket whatsoever. I think that the Jets have given him ample time to show that he can grow as a QB and it's time to look elsewhere.

Fark that. Maybe these guys want to win and are tired of coaches and management feeling that Sanchez can help get them there when the players know he can't. This is a sport about winning and losing, and winning is more fun. You can call it throwing the guy under the bus or just giving him a little bit of a reality lesson.

Looking at what happened with Palmer, Leinart, and Sanchez, I'm pretty sure you need to sit any USC QB you draft for a year and let him learn the NFL game. Leinart wasn't ready, and Sanchez it seems was quick to plateau. Palmer had a decent career in spite of the absolute moronic front office in Cincinnati.

oh i fully agree. Its the biatchiest move of all. But, i woudlnt be shocked if all the players were urged by Rex and the coaching staff to take it easy on him publicly. And as a result, you have these anonymous comments. At this point, id rather they just be said, anonymous or not.

The Colts need to hold onto Manning for one year and let him and Luck play together so Luck can adjust and learn a little bit more by watching. After that trade Manning to whomever he wants to be traded to. If Manning balks and says I am above teaching the new guy. Trade him immeadiately to a team that he doesn't want to play for. DO NOT cut him! Get something for him. Don't you dare let him walk for nothing. Even pay him and make him sit the bench first. DO NOT let him walk. To hell with the money.

There was a small window when the Jets (to me) seemed to be this kind of quirky underdog group. Brash coach speaking up for his team and his players. They had a decent surprise season when Sanchez was young, they pulled in some talent and carried on. That quirky underdog schtick has grown tiresome. Ryan sounds like a douchey windbag, his players sound like blame-gaming biatches and my desire to see them do well and spite the odds has died. I used to never enjoy seeing a team lose as much I as I enjoyed seeing Dallas lose. The Jets has made this not so anymore. Fortunately I have one NFC and one AFC team to root to lose in humiliating fashion weekly.

I also believe that Manning should be given some carte blanche in how he, or any deal is handled. He took that program that would have found mediocrity a success and won them a bowl. He had them in prime time games week in and week out. He generated tons of cash for that team via sales/jerseys/tix/etc and gave that group of fans a reason to hope. You people live in Indiana, don't get too crazy about what you may deserve or what Manning owes you. You're a group of perennial no-hopers before him, and will be after him, despite how good Luck will, or wont be.

Winning their last two games against desperate teams (one of which was your beloved Jets) to win the NFC East is not "sneaking" into the playoffs, no matter how badly you want it to be. Then again, you're the same dope who stated unequivocally that the Jets had surpassed the Giants, who I believe you said were "terrible" and "circling the drain" before this season started, so I'm taking whatever you say with a huge grain of salt. Frankly, until you admit you were wrong, there's no reason to even speak to you.
By the way, the actual definition of "sneaking into the playoffs" is the Jets of two years ago, who faced two teams who basically didn't even try to win. But again, I don't expect you to grasp the difference.
As for the current Jets scenario, their problem isn't that they don't have Peyton Manning, their problem is that their defense has gotten progressively worse over the last three years and their head coach keeps insisting on putting a gigantic target on a mediocre team by running his mouth. But hey, Peyton Manning will fix everything. It's not like he's a 36-year-old QB coming off major surgery who didn't play a down this year.

Nah...Peyton would be more likely to land in Arizona. They'll opt out of Kolb's contract for sure in the off season, and Peyton is NOT going to want to play in the same market/stadium as his brother. he'll want to continue his dome play, and Arizona is gonna need a QB.

well, they'd take a game in which he didn't manage to throw 3 pick-6s and be liike "OMG, this guy is AWESOME" and completely ignore the atrocious games he DID have, which really seemed to outnumber the decent/not-below-average games.

well. I suppose it depends on how you see it. Ill be honest, I think how Rex treats players is the reason the team is in dissarray. He proved with holmes, that it wasnt about production or heart, or any of that. He made him captain for no reason. Same with Sanchez. He basically gave him a free pass from day one. And thats not right. He should be scrutinized as much as everyone else. So while its not Sanchez's fault hes become the focal point, I do get it. Rex likes to have the players like him. But a good dose of fear and respect would change this team dramatically.

I feel bad for Sanchez - the poor guy's had to deal with Rex Ryan's BS his entire career, he's a bad fit for New York's aggressive media coverage, and inspite of that he's done pretty well - two AFC Championship appearances. I think he's all ready got more Playoff wins then Tony Romo.
He's a good kid - he was given no chance to succeed and did so inspite of people. He has a rough year, with a bad team, and everyone's shoveling dirt on him.
I hope he does abandon the Jets and finds someplace where he can develop and learn properly. Preferably away from the annoying Jets fans.
