On the one hand, it's deplorable to exploit these people.
On the other hand, if I were vacationing somewhere and a corrupt police officer said "I'll let you film naked tribal people dancing for you for a few dollars," I'd probably want to take advantage of the opportunity.

If you were in a remote place wouldn't you want to visit a tribe of people living like they are in the stone age? I see no one being hurt here. Both sides benefit, the tourists and the natives. The same people who complain about this would complain about tours of the lower 9th ward in New Orleans to see Katrina damage and tours of South Central LA to see gang areas, saying both are exploiting the local people.
/both tours are available by the way

The natives DON'T benefit. The more they come into contact with the modern world, the more their lives turn to sh*t.
At least the Sentinelese will still fill your ass with arrows if you come near their island.

The tribe, thought to have been among the first people to migrate successfully from Africa to Asia, lives a nomadic existence in the lush, tropical forests of the Andamans in the Indian Ocean.
Seems like they peaked pretty early. I can understand the desire to get the hell out of Africa and retire on some tropical island but maybe try to work on building up a real civilization before entirely kicking back and taking it easy.
Rights campaigners and politicians Wednesday condemned a video showing women from a protected and primitive tribe dancing for tourists reportedly in exchange for food on India's Andaman Islands.
If you feed them they can lose the skills they need to successfully forage for food in the wild. Soon they'll be knocking over trashcans and even attacking tourists.

My father and I decided that the Jawa's entire language consisted of "zucchini". We have much fun randomly shouting it when watching the movies.
Then in Episode II we got "Would you like a cup of Jawa juice?". We took that and ran with it. "From freshly-squeezed Jawas".

Of course these people conveniently forget: The lifespan of these "natural" people is 28 years average, and infant mortality runs 25% in their "idyllic, unspoiled" condition.
That never gets mentioned-----or didn't anyone notice: there are no old people in those pictures?

All jokes aside, if anything from Star Wars applies to this story, it is the concept of the Prime Directive. You can never predict the consequences of providing modern technology and information to primitive civilizations. Who knows what'll happen.

The Andamanese are one of the few populations on Earth with no Neanderthal or Denisovan DNA.
Mock them as stone-age dancing monkeys, but they're more human than you.
Anyway, they're fascinating folk, but really should be left alone.
