Dear Argentina,

the Falklands were British first, they've been British for longest, and the people who currently live there want them to remain British.

Fark off, they're British

Sincerely,

Britain

Replace the Spanish on the signs with some squiggly writing, and it would look just like a protest out of the middle east.

It never ceases to amaze me how nationalistic/religious sentiment can be used to distract people from real problems.

Split your lungs with blood and thunder
When you see the great squid
Break your backs and crack your oars, men
If you wish to prevail

This ivory leg is what propels me
Harpoons thrust in the sky
Aim directly for his crooked brow
And look him straight in the eye

Seriously. "Lets jeopardize the entire population of squid species just to spite Britain!"

Its completely ridiculous. Plus, as someone already stated, the entire drama over Argentina claming the Falklands is doubly stupid. The British were the only ones to permanently settle the islands. The British have been in possession of the islands the longest. Most importantly, the residents of the islands want to remain being ruled by Britain. It would be one thing if the residents were clamoring for revolution. As of right now politically Argentina just wants a naked landgrab.

Every time at the Daily Mail:

"Oh wow, Argentina wants to......hey, what's that on the side? Katrina Bowden in lingerie? [click]"

Last time the the British military presence on the Islands were, wat, a few score soldiers? Now they have a permanent garrison of 500 soldiers, several Jets (fighters/bombers, if I'm not mistaken), a destroyer on permanent duty on the islands there and several subs.

Lets see how that works out for you this time, Argentina.

/plz correct me if i'm wrong on some of the units there.

Argentina can suck a bag of dicks.

If they try any more funny bidness over the Falklands, I hope England nukes them back into the stone age in the name of the Queen and the Continental Congress.

My main worry is that, the last time they kicked off over the Falklands, it got Margaret Thatcher re-elected. I'll be seriously farking unimpressed if they do the same again for Cameron.

Ahhhh, thanks.
also, from the link: "RAF Mount Pleasant has its own port facility[10] called Mare Harbour, and the Royal Navy maintains a presence in the area with a frigate or guided missile destroyer accompanied by an RFA vessel in the South Atlantic and a patrol ship permanently close to the islands.[citation needed]"

Still better than the 20 people they had there the last time, though.

Also, i heard that if a second Falkland war broke out, the British would aim to hit targets on the Argentine mainland as well. Any Truth to this?

Things have changed drastically in Argentina since the Falklands war. For one thing, they are no longer ruled by a military junta. Even though they may put pressure on the Falklands economically, I highly doubt they would go to war over it again.

In the stupid, pointless war between Argentina and Britain over a few rocks in the middle of the icy South Atlantic, does either party even care about the people actually living on those islands?

[crickets]

Yep, that's what I thought. Both countries need to STFU and just realize nobody else in the whole world gives a squid's ass.

Well, seeing as the people on the islands themselves have decided that they're British and that they want to REMAIN under British rule, i'd say Britain has your point pretty well covered.

A sovreign outpust in the South Atlantic is pretty substantial actually. Especially with how international law works, that small island has a huge buffer-zone.

I believe 60 miles out to sea is considered part of their sovreign territory. So, that small island is actually 3.14(60)^2 worth of territory.
