I started watching this when I heard Shatner was going to guest star. It's pretty funny. And it was good of Alicia Silverstone to clone herself when she knew Batman and Robin ruined her career.

lollipophead: Only 1 year renewal? I'd give it 3. Great show.

3 years would be a bit much.

Next season will be season 7, which is kind of long in the tooth.

8 seasons would be a nice stopping point. It worked for Monk.

W00t!

The first few eps of the season scared me because they were too easy to predict. Last season some of the connections were too thin to believe. But they are back on track to happy times for me and the wife.

i like the way they handled the relationship. By NOT handling it. It's there, it's happening, but it didn't take over. And Shawn is just clueless enough to make the relationship interestingly unstable.

As soon as I realized that the show takes a very episodic approach to everything, I learned to sit back and enjoy. I think it's the best hour long comedy on TV possibly ever. Can anyone argue against that?

I have watched this show, and believe that the title is misspelled. The "y" should be replaced by a "u".

Episodic and great for it. It's definitely the go to comedy for me right now, simply because it's not unbearably awkward like the majority of network comedies and because the comedy is genuine. Would like more Cary Elwes, though

I did the same thing a couple months back. I caught up with all 5 seasons in less than a month. I think the show was at its absolute, can't miss best from late Season 1 through the middle of Season 3 somewhere. It's still great (including the amazing Dual Spires episode), but I think it's slipped just a tad.

Even still, I can't wait for more new episodes!!

The wife and I did this a year or two back. It got to the point that we felt Shawn and Gus were our best friends. I agree that the show has dipped since about the 4thish season, but it still good and the past few episodes were great.

They're using the "psychic powers" less, mostly because it makes sense. Outside of the bad guys, he doesn't need to. At this point, you have to figure that the cops know what's going on, the chief is pretty much humoring him, because he solves cases, and if he wants to be a little weird, let him. The police are pretty much just playing along for the lulz.

Yeah it did slip just a tad and this season isn't nearly as funny as the previous seasons, but it is still funnier than anything that has been on for a while.

Mayhem of the Black Underclass: [giant list of Gus's nicknames]

Thank you for this. Shawn's fake names for Gus during investigations are always one of my favorite parts of the show. I feel like they've been doing it less often lately (though there were some choice ones in season 5), which makes me sad. I laughed so hard and so much when he introduced him as Yasmine Bleeth that I had to pause and rewind the episode.

I'm still really enjoying the series, but it definitely peaked a few season back. It kinda feels like they went from doing investigations on their own, to following along with the detectives and just doing whatever the fark they want. They used to not be invited along with the cops; now you'll have the cops arriving to bust someone with guns drawn and bulletproof vests on... and then there's Shawn and Gus, right behind them, completely unprotected. I don't ask for much reality from my comedy, but scenes like that kinda pull me out of the fiction and make me think "Well... that's just silly."

/ But as long as it's funny, we're cool.
// Catching up on Season 6, still enjoying it plenty

That episode was so awesome. Only downside is that I think the creepy coroner is better in small doses. His scenes got a little unsettling by the end of that episode.

regindyn: That episode was so awesome. Only downside is that I think the creepy coroner is better in small doses

Every show seems to require an eccentric coroner. The only other show with a coroner that I watch regularly is NCIS, where the guy from The Great Escape speaks to his dead subjects. But I've seen episodes of various CSI type shows and they all have to have whacky coroners. I suppose being a coroner requires a level of a sense of humor but I doubt they're all batshiat insane in real life.

But since I've just started watching it, both on repeats on cable and in order with Netflix, I'm not as jaded as some of you bastards. Although I noticed Sean has backed off on the theatrics a bit, which is a good thing. And also once again,

...who also is a pretty good comedic actress besides just being hot.

I had to catch up on old seasons a while back. An interesting thing I saw at one point: I don't recall the season, but Shawn, Gus, and Henry were trying to find some lost spanish gold. At one point, they have to go to a pawn shop. The show cut to some stock footage of a pawn shop, and it just happened to be the Pawn Stars shop. I don't think that show was on the air yet.

/Bizarre.

I've heard worse. And it's short since there's only 5 characters. It's easier to sit through than to FF through it if I watch it on Netflix as opposed to DVR. And I do appreciate that they change it sometimes to fit the episode. It's a detail most shows don't bother with.
