Actually, if you really wanted to fark with the investigators, you *COULD* do it.

You'd have to hold the bow in your left hand, like you would if you were shooting it. Steady the arrow with the nock on the ground, place the tip of the broadhead on your chest between your ribs, pointing at your heart, and use your body weight to force it through.

It will look like you shot yourself with the bow, leaving the investigators to be all "WTF?!?!". Make sure you use a fairly low pull weight bow though, maybe 50 lbs or under, so that the investigators wouldn't think "Hey, that should have been a pass-through".

Well, I wouldn't want to string you along, just brace yourself because so far in this tab it's the best thread, though I would bow to others who have superior knowledge on the subject at hand. We could cast this as some sort of paradox, but we'd be right back to where we started, and I just don't have the belly to go fletch all the potential puns that are out there, nocking on the door, waiting to be fired off.

Ok, so this may be a stupid question, but regarding the possibility of suicide. Does it not seem reasonable that the cops would check for fingerprints on the crossbow to rule something like that out, before making a statement?
Or am I just living in a fantasy land where common sense prevails?

What if the guy was wearing gloves? Michigan in January tends to be cold, and the guy was outside.

Could be, but this year has been VERY strange in Michigan. No snow, as far as I know (I was in Howell on Saturday and it was dry as anywhere else), and temperatures hovering right around freezing. Yes, that could mean gloves, but for most folks right now, it's just not that cold.

Kind of spooked about the weather, actually.

Not this January. Quite warm. But fingerprints are not the magic they appear to be in movies and TV.

Interestingly, it's been much the same here in upstate New York. Still, when I go for my walks at noon, my hands still get cold if I don't wear gloves, partly because of the wind.

That would be the difference. Mid-Michigan is dead calm, from my experience. Howell might have some wind, but it's not too far from here, so I'm guessing no. Still that doesnt' mean he was NOT wearing gloves. Just making conversation, I guess... :P
