The Dick Van Dyke show was pretty good; but, he really showed his talents in the satires he did...like Cold Turkey and Some Kind of Nut. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn't get it, which is why satire is dead as an art form, replaced by burlesque parody...

Somewhat off thread topic, but on the topic of old shows - check out The Rockford Files on Netflix. There are some serious '70s styling going on, but the show really holds up well.
