It's possible there was some other shiat going on, but just in case, I'm laying in some extra marmalade in the pantry. I'm ready with a compromise to defuse any toast vs. orange arguments.

The guy was already a murderer, and they weren't respecting his position as husband and man of the house. His son had power of attorney, not the dad. The wife's sisters were removing items from the home.

All this adds up to taunting the dynamite monkey, is it any wonder there was a boom?

The sick woman, Darlene Gilkey, witnessed the shootings from a hospital bed in her living room Ohio, but wasn't hurt

Damn, that's pretty cold-hearted, lady. You'd think she'd be at least a little upset.

In her defense, Ohio is her living room.

Guy who'd do this sort of thing, I'm guessing the love of a good woman was about all that was holding him together. (of a sorts) Watching her die by inches and not being able to hit something to make it stop, well, that'd send a better man to some dark places. Man gets angry, and angrier, and has nowhere to direct it, he starts blaming all his anger on the little things that are really only making him a bit angry. Can't just say it's sad and leave it at that, cause he still made the wrong choice at the end of the day, but it's sad also.

"It was over her well-being, her care," the sheriff said

Bullshiat. It was over some meddlesome women who can't just sit down and who think they need be be up in everyone's biz.

They would have know he was preparing an orange. Did they just sit by their sister's side and talk? Nooooo, they had to be little busy-fingers, didn't they?

Farking busy females. Hate 'em. Busy busy busy. Can't just sit down and shart up when they're in someone else's house. I am glad that they are dead.

He was an unpredictable felon (for killing somebody) in illegal possession of guns. If his son or sisters in law had been armed they would have been safer.

I completely agree. I was completely safe from this maniac due to my 10 guns and thousands of rounds of ammo. And that I live on the west coast, but that's simply circumstantial.

Ya, but think how much safer all these "victims" would have been if they were all constantly waving around loaded guns, they would have been able to fire back

Came to say this.

Article doesn't specify how long the woman had been ill for but it's easily possible that it was a long period of time. That kind of situation can build up a lot of stress. One thing I also noticed is that the guy spared one of the sons, ordering him to leave the house several times until he finally did. This suggests that it wasn't so much the guy snapping as something very personal. I could be wrong but I feel like the other family members were just constantly interfereing and the guy finally had enough of it and let his grief get the better of him. Thats probably why he spared the 1 son. That guy probably didn't interfere like the rest of them.

I'm not trying to excuse his actions but I've been in this situation. Family can be relentless and vindictive when they are interfereing. They leave you with most of the hard work as you slowly give away your own life making all the tough decisions and making constant sacrifices. Then they periodically turn up and tell you exactly what you are doing wrong and try and take control over the most pointless and small matters. I just have my suspicions that this is what happened.

Yeah, no one kills someone because they peeled an orange. There was either some serious hatred going on in that family or the guy was completely and totally off his rocker.

FTA "As the argument heated up about 5pm on Monday, Paul Gilkey left the living room where his wife's bed was, went to a bedroom where he got a gun, returned to the living room and started shooting."

Well that`s your problem right there, if he didn`t have a gun then he would have gone to the bedroom and cried.

Well, he did make a good point. In a society where so many people are killed by guns, we clearly need to make sure there are more guns for everyone.

I mean, if more guns isn't the solution to gun violence, what is?

I like to have my tea and toast
I like to have it, this I boast
I like to have it on the coast
I like to have it; it's the most
I like to have it with a roast
I like to have it with a ghost
I like to have it from a host
I like to have it in the post
I will not have an orange
