Meh, I saw them on their "Never say Die" tour, I saw them on their "Heaven and Hell" tour. The original BS > Dio BS.

"...positive vibes..."? They should'a thought of that before they called themselves Black Sabbath, shouldn't they?

Stop the madness. For proof youtube Black Sabbath - Live in Paris 1971. Sure Ozzy went off the rails pretty fast and they had a short peak, but early Black Sabbath was far superior.

Splitting up was the best thing to happen to the original lineup. Ozzy put out a couple of great albums, and Sabbath sounded revitalized. I'm not saying one lineup is better than the other, but you can't force it when it's not there, and Sabbath was just sick of Ozzy at that point.

Besides, Dio is one of metal's all time great vocalists. I don't know if there's a more metal song than "Stargazer" off "Rainbow Rising."

All that said, this really sucks for Tony. I hope this is more treatable than Dio's.

I saw Heaven And Hell, the "Dio Sabbath" era revamp, four times and I'm so glad I did. I remember talking with my wife about it, saying I wanted to make sure I saw them "while I still could" because they were getting on in years.

First Dio, now Tony...I was totally psyched about Sabbath touring this year as well.

Sending you wishes for strength, guitar guy!

Under the sun, every day comes and goes when you're going through changes.

And as much as I love Dio \m/, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is better than Heaven and Hell.

Also, I got kicked out of the Ozzy/Sabbath reunion/farewell tour of the late '90s. Then I bought tickets that had opened up at the back of the floor. Nearly missed Pantera opening.

Farking scalpers selling stolen tickets.

Saw the same tour in Chicago. I was in the very last row of seats; everyone in front of us all the way to the front were standing on their chair seats, so of course I was too - otherwise I'd be looking at the ass of the dude in front of me.

Then some douchebag security guy told me to get off the seat. Like he really thought he was going to get the entire farking arena to get off their seats and back on the floor by starting with the guy in the back. I told him to go start in the front row, but he's just event security - he can't leave his little area. It was so sad, seeing this little man trying to control his little area. He kept tapping me on the back and telling me to get down, and I just ignored him. Eventually he stopped. I thought I was going to get kicked out, but I never did.

Maybe a year later I worked two shows as "event security" myself and learned exactly how little you are allowed to do in that position. My boss said "you are not the police; you don't tell people to put out their cigarrettes, you don't run for the cops if you see them smoking pot, and you don't get in fights; if you get in a fight, you are in more trouble than the person that started it. You're only job is to tell the real security when there's a problem."

Of course, this was before 9-11, so who knows what these people are allowed to do now.

Good thing he got a Warning lest the Hand of Doom comes his way. And it's treatable, unlike St. Vitus Dance.

Heh, I put this up yesterday, with a wittier headline showing sadness still.

It is shiatty but they caught it early. Hopefully they can get rid of it quickly.

Saw that tour in Seattle. It was awesome. "Looking pretty spry for a bunch of old guys."

Turns out my wife was knocked up at the time, too, so my youngest daughter at least got to hear it.

NNNNOoooooooooo!!!!!! God damn it all to farking hell. He is one of my favorite guitarists ever, and the Heaven and Hell tour was one of the best shows I ever been to. I was right infront of Iommi, and he kept throwing picks at me, and Dio pointed and smiled at me as well. Best night ever. fark cancer.

Side note: Even though I love both Sabbaths, the Dio era put on a way better show than they did with Ozzy. I have seen both of them live, and Ozzy kind of ran around and threw water into the crowd and missed half of the lyrics. Dio didn't do that.

If there ever was a performer who appreciated his fans more than Ronnie, I don't know who it was.

That sucks but he is kinda old. Something's gotta get us all. That being said .... I love Ozzy era Sabbath but Neon Knights is the best Sabbath song ever.

Indeed. Saw Dio open for Metallica years ago. I didn't really know much of his stuff, but that didn't prevent me from totally enjoying the guy's show.

In other news, get well soon Tony.
