I read that as pickled.

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pot.

I wonder if the people who were trying to break into the garage knew there was weed in there.

I don't even do anything illegal at my house and I'd never bother calling the cops to report an attempted break in, what a dumbass. What did he think they were going to do, actually try to figure out who attempted to break in, they don't even try to solve real break ins where criminals steal thousands of dollars worth of stuff.

The crime of stealing stuff is much worse than growing a plant for your own use.

Cops should do their jobs instead of arresting dopey.

14+ ounces is personal use?

Maybe for snoop dizzle... but not for normal people.

Police will produce the 12 plants and 7 ounces at trial as evidence.

Everyone. Unless you spend big bucks on carbon filters and the like, the smell alone will get you plenty of attention. I tried growing a couple plants in my closet during college. We rented a house and no matter how hard I tried, that smell was EVERYWHERE (couldn't afford any filters or anything, just a basic grow). You could even smell it from outside if the wind was calm.

Drug dealers have no legal recourse whatsoever. So they get a few guns and a few people who are crazy enough to use them. Folks are then amazed at the lawlessness that ensues. Prohibition didn't work in the 20th century and it doesn't work now.

Why is he a dumbass? There's no common sense reason to expect that marijuana would be illegal unless you've been informed of this completely arbitrary status, and even after being so informed one might think the information was in error because it makes no sense and people expect laws to be logical and fair.

Also it's the duty of all patriots to disobey an unjust law.

The cops don't care about your interpretation of the law.

The cops don't care about the actual laws either, but they especially don't care what you think about them.

It'd be stupid to legalize heroin and treat addicts because the war on drugs is a huge success.

Getting a kick seeing as I have had to call the cops to our garden as well. 3 times in fact now. Instead of them taking my plants, they helped educate me that protecting myself and my family with firearms is the way to go now, and round the clock video surveillance.

Well, assuming he wasn't one of the pot growers the media assures me are funneling funds to terrorists, then good on him for being willing to take the hit to attempt to get an actually potentially dangerous criminal dealt with.

Who cares? The legality doesn't matter. People who want to use heroin, will use heroin. They will get a hold of it no matter what. I smoke despite the legality of it. I wouldn't touch heroin if it became legal tomorrow and handed out freely by police. Why? Because I don't want to try that shiat. And someone choosing to use it (even legally) would tell me a lot about that person, namely that I don't want to hang out with them.

Educate people on the dangers of drugs instead of the dangers of getting caught and you'll change a lot more minds. Marijuana is only a gateway drug if you don't educate them correctly.

It's be stupid to think that legalizing the highly addictive substance that causes the addictions is going to lower the number of addicts. Feel free to treat all the addicts you want. Nothing is stopping you.

If the money spent on idiot cops flying around the woods in helicopters looking for plants went to treatment and prevention/education I bet it would lower the number of addicts and if not atleast we wouldn't be spending tax money on security industry welfare.

No i'm saying HOW you challenge police determines whether or not you're a dumbass. The police don't care that you think it's an unjust law, and calling them to your house to see your grow operation is a dumbass move. The guy did nothing to advance the cause of legalization, all he did was screw his customers and end up on FARK.

If his goal was to be busted, arrested, charged, and his operation shut down, then I guess you can't call him a dumbass. For some reason I don't think that was his goal though...

If a heroin addict could get their hands on something like opium gum or one of those laudanum tinctures that were widely available at the beginning of the 20th century, they could downshift their habit.

When you make something illegal, it's more profitable to sell the strongest version of it. Back in the 20s, unless you knew someone who made beer, you weren't getting it. You could easily find whiskey or gin though. Let someone start their morning with the original recipe Coca-Cola and they aren't going to go out and smoke crack.

I can only compare this kind of stupidity to the sick dude who ends up on How to Catch a Predator...and admits he has seen the show before. While the US has made gigantic strides in the decriminalization of marijuana, at the very least, it is still prohibited at the federal level, no exceptions. And if I had a nickel for every person that wanted to kick Nixon square in the balls for starting this crap, I would be richer than Bill Gates. blah.

I can't sympathize with this guy. I know 6 year old kids who have more street smarts. Sad, but true.

If you had a treatment component attached to your licencee to sell it that created a situation where you could not turn a profit selling it you wouldn't. Not to mention PSAs have proven success on the small budgets they have if you gave them even 10% of the welfare we give to the police and prison industry you could have a real impact on public opinion.
