That's exactly what I was expecting. And then I was going to go figure out who put LSD in my Cheerios.

British musician John Parr has re-recorded his 1985 hit song "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" . . . and then changed the oil in the Fry-o-lator before the lunch rush started.

You are wrong. Tebow has played the equivalent of 9 games (starting 8) for a 4-14 team and he is 5-3. His stats are better than ANY other QB at this stage in their career except Marino. FACT. but you are too lazy and stupid to learn. You are just a hater. You know he is a far superior human than you and you are jealous.

Tebow is in the divisional round, Norv still has a job and the Raiders have fired Hue Jackson. Farking AFC west is always there for comic relief.

Did they leave Al Davis in a vat of rum and make the front office drink it? That's the only explanation for this level of stupidity.

Precisely this. The hype is almost unbearable, but.... he keeps winning. Until he stops winning, I don't see a reason to stop talking about him.

All that talk of holding players accountable after their last week loss didn't go over well in Oakland.

Can't have any semblance of discipline or dignity or even continuity in the Raiders organization.

Haha...same ol' Raiders.

Standing on the sidelines, with his head hung low
Couldn't get any playtime, coach always said no
But through the roar of the crowd, he would witness a scene
Looking out on the field, just a halfback screen
That one completion, just blew him away
He saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day

Bought a beat up pigskin, in a secondhand store
Didn't know how to throw it, but he knew for sure
That one leather ball, felt good in his hands, didn't take long, to understand
Just one leather ball, flung with god's assist
Was a one way ticket, no way he could miss

So he started chuckin' - ain't never gonna stop
Gotta keep on chuckin', someday God'll help him to the top

And become Saint-Tebow, got God in his eyes, become Saint-Tebow, and he'll Tebow tonight.

So here's a funny thing that struck me this morning: Tebow is actually far less annoying about his personal Jesus than a lot of other athletes. I don't hear him saying in post match interviews that God wanted his side to win, or wanted him to personally run in the winning TD, or whatever. What I recall of his comments after Sunday's win was mostly about how his teammates make him look much better than he really is. He honestly seems to believe that God is concerned with more important things than which side wins some ball game.

OK, he does that one knee thing -- but he seems to be sincere about it, it's not flashy, and he doesn't ask the director to point the camera at him rather than the receiver celebrating the touchdown. He was doing it long before there was a camera on him, and I suspect he'll do it just the same long after TV gets tired of showing it. I'll take Tebow kneeling down over some wideout or, gods preserve us, kicker pointing up after a score -- what, does he think God nudged the kick just inside the upright for him?

I don't believe the things Tebow believes, but I don't have any problem with the way he conducts himself.

See I actually like the ridiculous hype. It's not going to last long, at the very most we'll see this stuff for maybe a month after the Superbowl if he goes there and wins it. If he loses this week? All of the Tebow stuff fades for a while.

He wins. He's stumping the analysts. He visits sick kids. He uses his faith to center himself, meaning he does not let the haters OR the hype get to him. I'm not religious at all but I'm somewhat jealous of Tebow, he has such a clear head about all of the chaos around him.

Of course I reserve the right to drop him like a hot potato if he gets too involved in politics.

eas81: I was thinking we should update the rick roll meme by terolling people.

My dad Tebowed me. Sent a link I thought was about the Saints/Falcons game and it went to some awful Timmy montage.

It's the new Rick-roll. Get used to it. Especially if your family or friends are hardcore Christians. Hell, I like the guy (not necessarily as player), but I'm tired of him being glorified by religious folks when God can't even help some innocent 4 year-old in Congo. Or the women being raped there because it's Tuesday.

Tebow is probably the nicest guy in the world, but when he "Tebows" prior to kickoff or after a good play, it's a farking slap in the face to everyone in the world who suffers. I'm glad that God willed your receiver, Tim. 4 seconds later a child died.

Since there is no God, how is it a slap in the face?

No one is up in heaven caring about football games, no one is up in heaven helping sick kids.

Who or what a person prays for matters not one whit.

It's like biatching about sparkling vampires versus traditional vampires. In the end, you're biatching about effin' vampires.
