I was expecting 2-3 games.

Guess the repeat offender + injury tacked on a couple more games.

Well, Colin Campbell isn't doing the suspensions anymore, so they make a BIT more sense now.

And the little weasel ran and hid behind Chara instead of manning up when challenged by Kesler, you know, a guy who can actually fight.

I wonder how soon the rest of his teammates get sick of that.

Oh, also, Scott Arniel got fired. Who would have figured he'd be the seventh coach gone this year already?

That dude is a farking punk. Great hockey player and, being a Flames fan, I'd love it if he played for them, but since he doesn't, I'm not a fan of his at all. He ranks up there with Claude Lemieux as far as most loathed hockey players on my list.

Oh...like you're one little douche who pretty much flashed his vagina at Thornton and wouldn't fight?

The difference is that Marchand will fight, unlike your team who have guys like the Sedins who will let Marchand make them look like a speed bag and not retaliate.

/Marchand deserved the suspension nonetheless

Good. Brad Marchand is a repeat offending turd and Claude Julien is an asshole for trying to suggest that it was Sami Salo's fault when it was clear as goddamn day what happened.

If you watch enough Bruins, you'll see Julien mentions at times that Marchand needs to control his emotions. The rest of the team I'm sure is perfectly OK with his plus 27.
I watched that game, but I missed the hiding part (not that it didn't happen). Marchand's no Shawn Thornton, but he drops the gloves against much bigger people. He'll have to fight Salo next year, and he will.
More interesting to see would be if Thornton will have to get speared in the throat and fight 6 Canucks at the same time again next year.

Really? Marchand will fight, eh? Let's go to the videotape. He hits Salo where the quadricep meets the knee (according to Chiarelli, he didn't, but Chiarelli is a blind retard so everything he says is taken with a grain of salt and two tons of bullshiat), and then when he is about to get retaliated upon, he hides behind Chara.

Yeah, he'll fight. You have absolutely no proof that he will, but we'll take your word for it.

Unless you're Peter Chiarelli, Claude Julien, or any Bruins player or Bruins fans.

In that case, a grain of salt and two tons of bullshiat.

Guy has too much skill to keep playing like that. Don't mind playing with an edge or even a bit of yapping to rile the other team up but predatory hits to injure don't need to be a part of this guys game. Make em pay on the score board brad, not with needless injuries.

Still waiting on the video from Bruins fans showing Marchand standing up and fighting someone after this hit.

'Cause it looked for all the world like he immediately turtled behind Chara until the linesman showed up and escorted him off the ice. Even though he was immediately challenged.

I guess I'll be waiting a while.

Marchand has 2 fights this year (PK Subban and Matt Niskanen). That's 2 more than Kesler so far this year.

What's funny is Vancouver has 24 fight already this year. 9 more than all of last year. Wonder why.

I'm really getting sick of this dick-measuring contest between you Boston and Vancouver posters. Had enough of it last June.

Marchand got what he deserved. That was a punk move.
Salo gets injured when he looks at himself closely in a mirror.

I'm not going that far. This suspension simply reminds me of the NFL, Bill Polian, and the Colts. When losing losers lose, they cry about the refs and the rules and get them changed and strictly enforced because they can't keep up with the big boys.

Regression to the mean. Also, they had 29 last year. And the two years previous to that they had 60+, which was among the league lead.

Having said that, fighting is a nothing more than an entertaining sideshow that has no effect on the game, and anyone who thinks fighting totals are indicative of anything is wrong.

Well, even speaking as B's fan, fighting PK Subban and Matty Niskanen isn't exactly the best proof in the world of someone's toughness. He does have it, but Subban's fight was more theater than anything else between two hothead yappers who figured they could wallop on the other.

I actually missed the game, but he should have fought Kesler if he was indeed challenged by him only for the fact Kesler is more valuable to his team than Marshmont is. If it was a Wiese or Maxim LaDouchier, I could understand saying "meh".

I disagree. Too many teams still use fighting to change the pace of a 2 or 3 goal game for me to believe that. I can tell you Vancouver now has Boston's attention now that they (for the most part) didn't dive and turtle their way out of the physical and confrontational parts of the game.

I wonder when the Vancouver players will tell Wiese to stop goading the other team's goon into a fight and then running to the bench? Did you forget about that little pussy move?

BTW, Salo was coming in head high to brain Marchand.. he ducked under the check. There was nothing illegal about that move. Shanahan caved to the biatching and moaning by the whining Canucks. If Vancouver didn't have 11 power plays, they would have been biatch slapped in the Garden... again.

I don't think he fought PK Subban, because he was too busy skating back to the bench after getting his motherfarking bell rung. Don't believe me? YouTube has that one.

As for the other fight, no tape of it, didn't happen. All there is tape of is your boy hiding behind Chara and running back to the bench like a little biatch.

This.

Vancouver is made up of a bunch of complete pussies.

If the nucks are so tough, why did it take six guys to jump Thornton, plus the other biatches on the bench throwing hands?

He lost the fight against Niskanen. Go look it up somewhere else. I promise you, I just watched both fights.

And I'm not going to apologize for your team losing game 7. What an odd mental state to be in, blaming a team for winning the Stanley Cup.

Maybe you can take comfort in Marchand's future stint in drug/alcohol rehab.

Actually, if you watch the video, Shanahan gives the reasons that Marchand was suspended, though he did mispronounce "cowardly sack of shiat who throws low hits on players made of glass".

Did you even watch the way that Marchand skated away butthurt after the first hit between him and Salo about 0:20 prior to the low hit? Marchand hits Salo in the back of the head twice, and then claimed that he came low at Salo shortly afterwards because he needed to protect himself. Hint: protecting yourself rarely ever involves making the first strike, second, and third strikes, nor does it involve protecting yourself by skating at your opponent. Smells like bullshiat to me, and more importantly, to the officials that watched the play repeatedly and who have played hockey professionally.

Say what you will about the Canucks, but the source of that cheap shot was Marchand. He needs to own it, and he needs to explain to his team why they are down salary cap, 2 points, and a player for 5 games, all because he felt threatened by the big bad D-man that he punched in the back of the head seconds prior.

For Bruins fans to swallow the horseshiat that Julien and Chiarelli were spouting about this hit is just insane.

What amazes me is that somehow the jump-job the 'Nucks did on Thornton is going completely untalked about.

That biatch Burrows puts his stick to Thornton's throat

lh3.googleusercontent.com

Then Thornton goes to beat the shiat out of him. Then instead of Vancouver getting a 3rd man in penalty, when in reality 5 men came in, the Bruins get flagged with a BS call on Lucic and Horton and go 2 men down. On what farking planet is it ok for 5 other players, plus the ones of the Vancouver bench throwing cheap shots, to hit Thornton and then the Bruins get flagged with a 5 on 3 disadvantage? Care to explain that?

I said earlier and at the time that Marchand deserved the suspension. But I still can't process how the fark that no one is even talking about the first fight in the game. The NHL failed miserably on that one.

Marchand I'm sure won't own it officially. He's mentioned how Salo had something coming since Salo jumped Tyler Seguin from behind with Malhotra already scrumming. This was the same time Marchand owned Daniel Sedin's face. (Game 6)
And Salo did deserve something. Marchand just took it too far.

Thornton tried to jump a 1st liner. If Weise tried to jump Krejci the Bruins would have been all in as well, and you know it.

After all the talk about the Canucks being diving pansies that whine to the media when things don't go there way, the Bruns spent the whole third period flopping all over the place, and Julien has had 3 media tirades about how the Bruins are too classy to have media tirades.

Not to mention the incredibly idiotic "Marchand was protecting himself from big bad Salo" excuse.

What amazes me is that somehow the jump-job the 'Nucks did on Thornton is going completely untalked about.

That biatch Burrows puts his stick to Thornton's throat

Yeah, how about you show the full clip where Burrows clearly gets positioning in front of the Gooins bench, harming no one, and then Thornton slashes him in the ankles as Burrows heads back on the change.

What happened Gooins fan, did NESN carefully edit out that footage in order to condense the game for your dumb ass?

Thornton started it, Burrows and the boys retaliated, and then Dale Weise wrote a book called "Horton heard the echo of my knuckles against that empty dome of his" all over the TD Garden ice.

Ya lost. In the season series, the 'Nucks are 1-0, and we only play one game.

See you in the Finals, and good luck trying to exact revenge.

I definitely appreciate the new explanation videos from Shanahan, but it'd be nice to see some explanation behind the numbers handed out, too... once the decision is made to suspend, the number of games has a very "magic wheel o' suspension" feel to it, and it'd be nice to see some more consistency, or at least let us watch the wheel spin.
