And a nice goal at that. Glad to see him back in the Red.

I'm still not sure how him coming back will work out, but i'm glad to see him and him scoring the winner today was a beautiful thing

He's lost a step, but I don't give a shiat, that was sublime. Class is indeed permanent.

He's a stopgap, no more than that. I'm hoping he inspires the strikers to discover where the net is.

But god damn it was great to see him on the pitch.

The stuff of legend.

Nobody expects much this season, hoping to catch Spurs somehow or hang onto top four. FA cup might be the only real shot at silverware.

Other than van persie a lot of motivating is necessary, hopefully he can give them something

He's really a handy guy to have around.

I'm half-Irish, half-French so I give him and 227 the benefit of the doubt.

I'm sure he's happy to be scoring in front of actual fans in the seats.

I've tried to get into following soccer - even going so far as to pick Arsenal as "my team" back in 2006 - but moves and the shiatcanning of streaming sites has made it kinda impossible for me to do anything other than check Arseblog, which isnt the same as watching the matches themselves. Anyone have good, reliable links for where I can catch streams in the US? Preferably if they're widescreen (like HD, the quality itself isn't so important as the field of view).

I would greatly appreciate it. For the last couple years my most consistent access to what's going on in soccer have been the regular updates to Football Manager.

If you don't mind paying a small fee, fox soccer tv has a pay site where you can watch most EPL games on demand. it's well worth it.

The few they don't show stream live on watchespn.

I like this one, but I always see if ESPN3.com has it first.

A class, class player. Before he left Arsenal for Barca he was arguably the best player on the planet. I kind of like watching scenes like that where club legends leave for whatever reason and return several years later and do something that wins their team the game. The noise and adulation is usually immense.

ESC member here...you should sit by us. It's much more fun.

By the way, good to see Thierry come back to the Arsenal trophy cabinet and seeing it just the way he left it.

I was, but then I started hanging out with some ESC lads, and got sucked in. Plus, chances are the Cosmos will be in Long Island or somewhere far from me. RBA is just closer.

Chupacabra Sandwich's Tentative Life Plan currently says I'm moving to NYC in about a year from now. If that works out I would like to join you.

Late post but .. what the heck is up with Henry's conditioning. 22 minutes of Premiership and he's dog tired. Did NYRB not do much than have him stand around?

/// SSFC / ECS ... we got rid of our aging Arsenal man a couple of years ago, immediately improved as a team.

Watching a few of their early games with DeRosario, yeah. They'd dominate possession but in the final third they'd look like they were waiting for a bus or something. I think they got better at moving around and making runs later in the year though.

Maybe the emotions of his first game back took a little bit out of him.

You're more than welcome to. You're also then, as by law, required to watch your beloved Fulham matches at Legends.

That goal was just...wow, amazing. You could show that clip to someone and they'd think it came from 2006.

And Henry's reaction just made it more special. He couldn't believe that he'd don the famous Arsenal shirt once again, and you could tell he was a bit emotional.

Then he scores that quintessential goal that made him a legend: two touches, back of the net. Epic, simply epic.

That being said, Arsene needs to spend. I hope he doesn't have short-term memory problems and forgets what happened once RvP was out of action.

BTW, any NYC gooners hang out at the Blind Pig for games? I'll be in town this weekend and have nothing particularly better to do Sunday morning.

I went there for England vs. Germany in the WC...needless to say, I'm never going there again.

To be fair, with how those teams looked on that day, the worst jinx you could have done to England was turn an embarassing 3-1 defeat into an embarassing 4-1 defeat :) (was a neutral fan for that game, but had to be impressed by Germany's play)

seconded; absolutely fantastic site. you no longer have to watch multiple streams at the same time, because you can always just watch on demand. and it also shows champions league matches, serie a, ligue 1, and selected carling cup and fa cup matches (example, they showed the fa cup manchester derby and have tomorrow's city v liverpool match), with a few championship matches as well.

Interesting. I wonder if the fact I subscribe to Fox Soccer and Fox Soccer Plus (U-verse) will allow me to access this.

No, it's a separate entity you have to pay for.

for anyone looking for any soccer streams http://www.wiziwig.tv/ (which has replaced myp2p) is usually your best bet for all the games, they have tons of streams of varying quality.

As for the goal, not an arsenal fan but damn that goal brought a tear to my eye. Very happy for Henry, cant imagine how much it meant to him.

You gotta love the emotion that Henry clearly had when he scored that goal. I'm not an Arsenal fan, but if you can't appreciate that moment then you hate sports.

Because the content of the rest of my post made it really clear that I'm down with all the hip soccer sites.

It'd have been nice if, you know, you suggested an alternative. It's not like my post was meant to seek guidance or anything.

It's actually a really good website. Has an Android and iPhone app and everything.
