How in the hell did he think this was even remotely a good idea?!

Saborlas: How in the hell did he think this was even remotely a good idea?!

The answer is in the question.

Was he even charged with contempt? I don't see why the shirt is really relevant here. It's a shirt.

Looks like he came from a rich family and just wanted to rebel against the life of having a silver spoon in his hand.

I'm sure he was looking for trouble, just so he can cry about his Freedom of Speech rights.

Court dress codes are farking ridiculous, a person should be judged on what they've done, not how they dress.

Well when you are going to court over selling drugs and you wear a shirt that is promoting drugs it kind of leaves the impression that you aren't really taking the courts seriously.

I'm a "legalize it all" kind of guy but it's mostly to put brazen, unlawful assholes like this out of business.

But if you dress like a goddamned moron, you deserve to be judged accordingly.

Dude sounds like he doesn't give a fark what the judge, or anyone else, thinks. Been to jail, probably not afraid of going back.

Really, they aren't going to put him away for long enough to matter anyway. Probably makes good money on the inside too.

I've been to court one time. I knew nothing about a dress code and showed up wearing jeans, polo shirt and casual shoes. The judge spent more time biatching at me for wearing jeans than he did concerning himself with my reason for being there. The guy in this story is a moron but a dress code for the sake of having a dress code is farking stupid.

So clearly you did not listen during the judge's tirade. He probably thought it was yet another teachable moment. He was wrong.

It doesn't mention anything about him being charged for contempt, but this is a follow-up so i may have missed something.
He could afford the 30 grand bail so he's likely to have highly competent legal council and will serve very little time, of which he will be treated like a king.

THE SYSTEM WORKS!

As someone who visited court a lot back when I was drinking, I can handle the dress issue.

Dressing up for court isn't just because of some arbitrary dress code. It is to demonstrate that you understand the gravity of the situation, that you have respect for the court, and that you have respect for yourself.

Even if one completely disagrees with the above, going before a judge on felony charges isn't really the best time to argue that appearance shouldn't matter.

Exactly.

I'm glad you conquered your demons... or have at least managed to figure out how to keep them at bay.

This is an ugly culture ... evil. Drugs, violence and selling the bodies of their sisters and daughters is the norm. It must be destroyed with violence if necessary for the good of the world.

It's hard for me to read the shirt, but the baking soda is used to convert cocaine in the salt form to cocaine in the base form, which is also known as crack cocaine. It is a chemistry technique.

Ignoring the whole 'drugs are bad argument for the moment. All I see is a man, with limited options, using the capitalist system the best way he knows how. Who's the criminal, the dealer, or the person who's buying the merchandise. Add in the facts that he's black, a felon, and what other choices does this man have to make any kind of a decent living. He has no other options left to him.

/devil's advocate
//still, this guy has no future with his rap sheet at 25
///genuinely curious about other Farker's thoughts

Oh yes, and the shirt, giggle, serious chutzpah.
