My stomach hurts (stretchy hurts) after about four. I don't know that, even if I could manage the tummy part, I could still take 12 alcoholic drinks. I could when I was 22. Me and Little Kings did a couple casefuls. Frozen puke on Schrand's mom's station wagon... what a memory.

This. A mere 6 beers at 2.5% is a much different place than 6 at 5%+ I'm aspiring to get into the stronger stuff, but budget, time and lack of selection at the awesome local bar limit me. Although, 'limited' to a refreshing Crown and Coke is not a bad place to be...

Probably has to do with the time factor.

Back when I was in the Army, I had to work late at the shop and I got back to my barracks room around 8 PM. It was near the DMZ in Korea and there is absolutely nothing to do there except drink. So I got a 6-pack and drank it. It was gone in 30 minutes. Not a consumption record for me but I was tired apparently and the combo of those two is what hurt me.

I went to bed sober.
I woke up the next morning a little sore on my side. Chalked it up to laying in the same position all night or some such.
I went to formation and everybody was snickering. Except one of the E-5s.

Turns out, I had fallen out of my upper bunk naked and landed sidways on the back of the desk chair that sat there in front of the TV folding my body over it. I got up and walked naked down the hall and pissed under the door of that E-5. Walked back to my room, climbed back into my bunk and went to sleep.

Don't remember a thing.
But the look on that E-5's face and the big gigantic bruise on my ribcage kind of told me it happened.

If it's local, AND awesome, I'd be willing to wager that they'd be willing to expand their selections to accommodate your tastes....if you are regular enough that is. Wouldn't hurt to ask:)

If you can quickly drink 12 McEwan's Scotch Ale and not be super-duper blitzed, I'll be both impressed and horrified.

Hell, you could even do 6 McEwan's and 6 Molson XXX if you're not quite up to 12 McEwans.
