blast your intestine with laser beams

No thank you; I've had Taco Bell already this week.

Celebrity spokesman Richard Gere gave an enthusiastic pitch for the product, hinting about the next generation of the product, the GRBL-2000.

Why did I think of a Coolio song when I read this headline?

Shiat, I'm an American, I eat McDonalds for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My intestines are immune to your puny lasers, you best bring some nuclear warheads.

Because you're under 25 and have no depth of musical experience?

If they're doing a colonoscopy and they see a polyp or something they want to examine, they can quickly take a sample right then. If you swallow a pill, and they see something, which they likely will since we all have something or other in there, you'd then need the traditional colonoscopy anyways so they could take a sample.

/Had this done last year, it wasn't as bad as I thought
//The 'twilight drugs' that were supposed to make me loopy and forgetful didn't really work
///the endoscopy (throat exam) sucks a bag of dicks

Very soon, please. (I know, I did RTA). Probably looking at my third Upper EGD in six months.

Blast your intestines? That's what a good vindaloo is for.

I would like to see them do therapy and confirm outcomes with pathology with this. With adenoma detection rates at >95% for most Docs I cannot imagine a scenario where this device can deliver effective therapy. How does it retrieve biopsies, inject chromoscopy or do saline lift, lavage or mucosal resection? Also there is a lot of washing in large bowel endoscopy. The prep qualities will have to excellent for this device to work. And it very rarely is.

I do see a good fit for this in small bowel endoscopy.

But "esophagogastroduodenoscopy" is such a fun word to use! If the procedure goes away I won't have an excuse to type all those vowels out anymore. :(

/I keed. Sorry to hear that, hope everything turns out all right.
