In this case, you're donating directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, not to "him". You can certainly donate directly to clinics and researchers if you wish, assuming you have the time and knowledge it takes to research those that are going to be most beneficial for your money. Organizations like LLS take the hard work out of finding a good place to donate, funding research on a much larger scale than a single small donation can help. On top of that, you may not necessarily receive a tax deduction by donating to a specific research team, whereas with LLS you do. Also, many research teams don't have the time or manpower to maintain a constant fundraising campaign from small donors, finding it much more worthwhile to let others do that work and concentrate on the large donors such as LLS that can fund most or all of their work at one time.

Just my two cents, but by all means, donate wherever you wish.

At the moment, none, as I'm currently out of work due to some medical issues. In the past, however, I have supported a number of different charities. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is one, as well as the Lupus Foundation, St. Judes Children's Hospitals, World Wildlife Fund, and Susan G. Komen to name a few. Not sure why it matters where I donate, however.

And for the record I wasn't trying to discourage him, but he asked why he shouldn't donate directly and I was simply giving him some reasons. Every charity is different and has different procedures for how they distribute funds. Some do direct research, others don't. I was being serious when I said to donate wherever he wished. At least he's willing to donate, which is always a good thing.

No, at least not that I can tell (on mobile phone so can't link but just google Sar Wars Nerd vs Punk) he said he was upset because one of the punks cursed and his mom was in line. Not only did the punks not push him but he and his dork possee crossed the street to confront the punks.

Just watched it again and it doesn't clearly show the push (camera was behind the big guy) but it looks like he was pushed and he said he was pushed later. I got no problem with him dropping someoen who pushed him.

There the link, and as a liter who was there (I'm the bald dude on the right side of the screen when Art starts talking), I will say that Art hit him back, the kid threw a feeble punch at Art, and Art reacted. At the very end of the video, you can hear the line "get back to Hot Topic, biatch" which is still brought up as an insult by the wife and I.
