Didn't Andy Warhol already do this gimmick?

Cool, it's about time. He's not getting any younger.

Worthless TV show. Will be a worthless movie.

As much as I once loved 24, the last season or 3 were not that good. The last season in particular was pretty terrible in comparison to the rest of the show. It kind of jumped the shark and I'm not sure how good a movie would be, but of course I'd still watch it when it comes out on Netflix :P.

I've low expectations for Touch since it's from Tim Heroes Kring.

I hope I'm proved very wrong.

Yeah, it would have been much more interesting starring Donald Sutherland.

Was there any significant number of people who actually wanted a "24" movie?

Nah, I didn't think so, either.

I mean, really...what do they think they're going to do with a movie that they didn't already do with the show, besides throw more money at it?

Ugh...whatever. Didn't watch the show, won't go see the movie. It's all gravy to me.

Tim Kring? Really? The good news for Keifer Sutherland is that the first season will be a monster hit, but the second season will slowly descent to hell, and in the third season it'll go to hell in a hand basket in a monolithic and epic collapse.

Doesn't making it a movie kind of defeat the purpose of calling it "24," and the whole gimmick of the action playing out in real time? That is, unless they call the movie "2" and all the action wraps up in two hours.

AgtSmithReloaded: Was there any significant number of people who actually wanted a "24" movie?

Hey, "24" was one of the best comedies of the last decade, right up there next to "Arrested Development", and people continue to clamor for an AD movie. Sure, around season 4 or 5, they obviously ran out of jokes, but the first three seasons were comedy gold.

The movie will end like a certain movie in theatres right now, and will tell you to go online to get the ending of the movie.

No, no: you'll be trapped in the theater with a screaming Kiefer for the full 24 hours. Pray for death.

*wipes tears from eyes*

I needed the lulz, thank you.

/Spooks/MI5 was cooler.

A 24-hour long movie? Is this some kind of gimmick to drive up food concession revenue? Would they run for two hours at a time and then have intermissions for bathroom/concession breaks, or would it just be a continuous 24 hours with members of the audience taking breaks as they needed them? I guess you could wear Depends and really stock up on the provisions to minimize the breaks you'd need to take. Gosh, how much would the tickets cost for something like that? Does anybody like Kiefer Sutherland enough to put up with him for 24 straight hours?

2012-01-09 01:27:49 AM
The final 3 seasons were laughably bad while the previous 5 merely had certain laughable subplots. I expect the movie will be fun if emphasis is on action. Any chance of genuine drama is nonexistent because the show lacks the supporting characters that once made it great.

/Crazy as it sounds, I'd like to see Zombie Tony again.

Wait, there's an Andy Warhol's 24?

I loved his take on Dracula and Frankenstein. "To know death you've got to fark life in the gall bladder!"

Wait, wasn't "Melancholia" the 24 movie?

... no wonder I was so confused.

another show that went completely batshiat terrible a few seasons in.
all downhill after "fark you, you murder-loving fascist"

interesting Tim Kringe connection: i'm pretty sure the super hot chick on spooks is (or was) married to the indian guy on heroes

My problem was that they *didn't* jump the shark. For each of the last two seasons, I was prepared for total balls to the wall crazy, because what else could they do with their established formula?

Turns out, they could do nothing at all and put out two seasons that were near carbon copy repeats of the previous seasons.

I had to take my brother and his fiance to a movie because I owed them one, that's what she picked. She has a thing for horror/scary/exorcism movies....my brother had previously lost his movie picking privileges by having us see Killer Elite.

The Devil Inside was worse than Blair Witch. I didn't think it was possible. If it gets higher than 1% on RT I will tit-punch my brother's fiance extra hard the next time I see her.
