Seeing this earlier and the video with her alive talking about it made me think that there was a lack of an infestation.

That looked like a pretty gnarly rapid too. And her feet were still tied together. Her surviving that is more impressive than the crocs. Do crocs even hunt near rapids?

The crocodile aspect has nothing to do with it. They're not going to attack except under extreme circumstances.

That said, i bet she paid extra for jumping over "crocodile infested waters".

I have my Class A skydiving license and have made over 30 jumps, but I will never bungee jump. At least if something goes wrong while skydiving you often have at least a few seconds to try and recover. With bungee jumping you know something went wrong because you just smacked the ground!

Once you understand why you will not bungee jump, you understand why most people will not skydive. Your tolerance is just half a percent higher than most people's.

I understand why most people do not skydive, but it still baffles me as it is statistically safer than driving.

Consider for a moment the type of person that says to themselves, "Gee, I wonder which is statistically safer.. skydiving, or bungee jumping. I'd better thoroughly research it and change my behavior accordingly."

They don't exist. Most people realize they're both stupid.

I rarely drive for fun (any more*), but if you commute to work by jumping out of a plane your life is rather different from mine.

You sound like the type of person who often thinks about dudes' testicles in otherwise completely unrelated situations.

Not that there's anything wrong with it. Try not to suck any dicks on the way out of the plane.

I would do a lot of crazy things, but I wouldn't bungee jump or skydive. I would go onto that observation deck that hangs over into the Grand Canyon, but would not walk along the edge of said Canyon. Have canoed into seriously alligator infested waters - I love alligators - but would not do it again, after one of the little darlings half-heartedly lunged at me.

Some risks are fun, some are stoopid.

I have to agree with this. They're ravenous predators and we've all seen the unending nature footage of some poor deer going for a drink and getting his head snapped in a croc's jaws.

They might avoid what they perceive to be conflict, but if they see you as a free and defenseless meal, you won't have long.

Spoken like someone who has never been around a crocodile in their lives, but whose entire exposure to the animal is "reading up on it" on the internet.

There are many different species of crocodile, and only a very small portion of them are even remotely interested in humans. The crocodiles of inland Australia are not among these species. Of those that actually are interested, the younger ones won't even bother trying. You're looking at a very, very small portion of crocodiles that are capable of killing a human. Seeing as how they're a pretty smart animal, they know this. The others don't bother trying.
