I don't. Never did. I was always indifferent. Didn't watch the show.

He did a pretty good cameo in the first episode of house in season 8.

I mean, seriously? A Spiffy tag? That might fly for Jaleel's one-episode stint on Psych, but you don't bring that to Breaking Bad.

Oh, HELL no.

It could've been over.

The fourth season finale was intended to stand as a series finale if AMC chopped the legs out from underneath them.

Since it *wasn't* the series finale, more hilarity is to ensue.

Because I didn't discover The Wire until the 5th season this is the first time I'm excited about a show that won't begin months before the first episode of this coming season.

Also... Roadhouse was playing, although with the sound muted, at my neighborhood bar during Trivia night last Thursday... I understand your enthusiasm. It was both surreal and sublime.

A Bloody Disaster: Because I didn't discover The Wire until the 5th season this is the first time I'm excited about a show that won't begin months before the first episode of this coming season.

Sweet deal!

I'm looking forward to it at the same time that I'm NOT looking forward to the whole thing ending. It's the best ticket on TV right now, and it'll suck to see it go.

Also... Roadhouse was playing, although with the sound muted, at my neighborhood bar during Trivia night last Thursday... I understand your enthusiasm. It was both surreal and sublime.

Oh, dude, you're just enjoying the tip of the iceberg!

Once you hear the ridiculously implausible things that these characters say, your appreciation of Road House will climb a thousandfold.

Haha, I agree. That would be too much for me too. Every time you think you know who screwed Michael, in walks a new villain who is ready to screw with his head again, and make him his biatch. That shtick is getting tiresome. I like Burn Notice. But I don't know how they can keep it going for another eleventy years, like you know they probably want to.

It's like the massive, ungodly game of Villain Telephone Tag that plagued 24 from Seasons 5 to 7. It was as if you learned of a new head conspirator every other week.

At some point, you just assume that the Loch Ness Monster and Andy Kaufman played a part in going after David Palmer.

As for Burn Notice, if I never have to hear some variation of the phrase "I have to discover who burned me," I will be *ecstatic.*

I like Burn Notice. But I don't know how they can keep it going for another eleventy years, like you know they probably want to.

I hear that.

I loved The A-Team too, but they ran that jazz into the ground in Season 5 when the A-Team started working for the government. I'm JUST sayin'.

My problem with this is that it would be stunt casting during the final season of the show, the season where they're wrapping everything up.

Hey, I dig Eric Roberts as much as the next bad movie aficionado, but I don't want to see him run Breaking Bad off the rails just because he likes the show as well.

Yeah, and aren't we on season 5 as of now? Where's Michael working? Oh look at that. CIA headquarters in Miami. Pfft. I think the show will end in the next couple of seasons, and if not, they'll probably do some new storyline where Michael became a boozer, and got thrown out of the CIA. Then he had to teach karate to children at the dojo down the street from IHOP.

Yeah, it's difficult to see this show going past seven seasons with the overarching Burned Spies Incorporated storyline.

Besides, I always dug the "help the downtrodden victim of the week" storylines better.

You're very welcome, and I'm glad you dug the whole thing!

I love the show. The fourth season finale could've been the end of it all, and I would've been satisfied (except for that ooooooooooooooone big loose end still kicking around in Mexico).

But yeah, there'll be another 16 episodes ready to start unrolling sometime this year.

I'm not entirely unconvinced that this won't turn out to be the case.

That was a brilliant season closer, that one. You definitely bought John DeLancie as a grief-stricken father.

I don't know a great deal about Star Trek, so I can't really say that his appearance on the show raised any red flags in my book.

I found him irritating on TNG (which was kinda the point of his character) and my mom was a huge Days of Our Live fan in the 1980s, so I was expecting soap opera-quality melodrama from him, but he brought the goods.

Personally, I like to see the completely typecast get second chances on shows, and I've found they're successful when you stop thinking of them as "that guy from that other show".From what I've read about Jaleel White, he seems like a nice guy and he deserves a chance to have a real acting career.

We shall see. I have faith in the creative folk on Breaking Bad; they haven't mis-stepped yet.

To my knowledge the show was given a fixed out of six seasons. Similar to lost and we all know how that ended.

Fair enough.

I mean, hey, who would've thought that the doofy dad from Malcolm in the Middle could've carried and commanded a show of this nature?

That said, I'm a little bit hesitant about any creative casting during the show's last run.

We shall see. I have faith in the creative folk on Breaking Bad; they haven't mis-stepped yet.

Definitely. My faith in the Breaking Bad team has surpassed my faith in Chris Nolan, and I'm pretty confident about what he's capable of.

This article was on fark a few months back with a White interview. He came off REALLY well in it. He was articulate, funny, and thankful for the child's role he was lucky enough to be a part of. He did this despite the horrible typecasting and lifetime of bad jokes he must endure. He didn't blow his money, or turn out a freak like so many other child stars. He was even understanding of the fact that Reginald VelJohnson was upset at how the show became Urkel based, instead of a "father knows best" Cosby show knockoff. Read it and tell me you can't root for the guy.

I'll give the guy a pass and wish him the best.

I'd be okay with it.

He's not a bad actor, and it's not like he'd be going full Urkel in the part.

As long as the writing staff utilized him in such a way that didn't feel forced (Odekirk as Saul is a good example), then I'd be down for it.

Yeah, that "Helping those who can't help themselves." shtick of Michael's was working, and it was working well. That's certainly true. But you know they always intended for him to go after the people who burned him. If that wasn't the case, they would have called the show "Vigilante For Hire" or something to that effect.

I'm guessing a show like that has a casting director. Since I'm not that person, no.

I dunno, I could buy it. it's not like he's Dustin Diamond, who's not only known solely for the one-note stereotypical character he played but for being a douchy prick IRL.

I just have a hard time imagining what they'd do with him. but like TMLO, I have a great deal of confidence in the Breaking Bad team.

If you weren't such an uptight grammar dick and actually watched the show--specifically the first episode--you would actually find out why it's called "Breaking Bad".

You watch a lot of reality TV, don't you?

There's nothing grammatically incorrect about it. So even a grammar nazi has no room to complain. "Turning Bad" wouldn't draw any complaints. In this case, "Breaking" and "Turning" convey the same meaning. While it's an unusual (and mostly colloquial meaning) of "break", it's a perfectly valid one.

It's one of the great things about the show; all the actors completely understand the characters they play and inhabit them completely. I'd love to know if that was written into the script or if that was something the actor came up with.

Little touches like that fascinate me -
was that move scripted (BB's writers are certainly good enough to write it) -
or was it acted by GE (who is also for damn sure good enough to act it)?

It aired for the first time the December before last ('10). It's still on frequently though. In fact, my best friend called me up today to tell me she saw me on today and watched my episode with her parents.
It's Episode 9 of season 2. "Got to Lock and load" I think you can watch a preview here Preview, maybe (new window)
I portray the main big-bad Richard Keyes. It was so much fun and it was the first and only time I'd ever acted. Never drama in HS, or anything like that ever =P. I'll bet you can find it on TV if you look for it.

Uchiha_Cycliste: huskerdu: Uchiha_Cycliste: huskerdu: huskerdu: Uchiha_Cycliste: God I would love to be an actor on this show.

AMC is running a contest to win a walk-on role. Give it a try.

Thanks so much! I entered.
I had a blast as the lead role for an episode of I almost Got away with it, and I think this would be even more fun.

duckpoopy: Can they change the name of that show to something that makes sense or is grammatically correct? Then I will watch.

breaking bad :

A colloquialism popular in the American Southwest referring to when someone has taken a turn off the path of the straight and narrow, when they've deviated from what's right.

Dwight_Yeast: Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: I mean, hey, who would've thought that the doofy dad from Malcolm in the Middle could've carried and commanded a show of this nature?

Funny, I was thinking that the one actor I'm not willing to give a second chance to is Frankie Muniz.

FunkOut: stoli n coke: So, in a nutshell, TFA is "washed up child actor wants to be given cushy role on popular and highly acclaimed series."

Sorry, Urkel. You're gonna have to come up with a better argument than that, especially now that there's less of a stigma with A-list actors starring on TV shows.

Where should child actors go to come back to television?

As an Unsub on Criminal Minds.

Muniz did just that. The episode sucked though. That asshole Wil Wheaton played a Norman Bates rip-off on Criminal Minds too.

No! Now go back to being Urkel for the rest of your life!
