not really ironic. she's not anti- corporation. quit trying to define her right wing media. she's anti fascist. she thinks the rich have skated on their social responsibilities for far too long. she knows that such a top heavy society will crumble.

How dare anyone accept that capitalism is the best form of economics, yet it has it's own flaws and needs to be tempered to allow for the growth of society!

The DSCC has taken $40M putz.

You'd think the Boston Herald would realize by now that attacking her makes people just like her more.

Gosh, an advocate who wants to reform capitalism to save it gets defined as a raging socialist lunatic by Wall Street. I wonder how often that happens?

I've met Liz Warren many times, corresponded with her a lot back in her NBRC days and read almost everything she's written.

Trust me, the lady ain't exactly radical. In a normal world, she wouldn't even be controversial. She'd just be a Harvard professor who has a particular flair for teaching complex subjects in simple language...if the rest of the world hadn't sold out to Wall Street and Ayn Rand until the economy collapsed.

You'd think some rational business people would step forward who wanted to reform that mess to save capitalism. And they do...they just do it by sending people like Liz money.

About as often as an anti-Communist hedge fund magnate being portrayed as the avatar of socialism.

You made the mistake in thinking that people at the Boston Herald understand logic.

No! Capitalism is PERFECT! Just like America! And Mommy! You're a doody head!

This is the reality of American politics. Without lots of corporate money, you can't win.

That would really be something if it were even remotely true.

Subby, your idiocy shall be legend.

Close enough...except in this case, Elizabeth Warren is actually smart.

From TFA: The Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee, which is helping the Harvard Professor, has taken over $40 million from Wall Street during the last 7 years according to records from OpenSecrets.org.

Reading subby, can you do it?

2012-01-07 12:24:01 PM
Also the admin who green lit it has probably had a penis in his mouth many, many times.

2012-01-07 12:24:30 PM
fta: In fact, Wall Street is the biggest contributors to them. They beat lawyers and labor union.

This just in. Wall Street contributes to both parties and has more influence than unions and lawyers and the rest of the people put together.

And this is a reason to vote against Warren?

*rolls eyes*

Look, I get the Rovian rule #1 wherein you take your biggest sins and accuse your opponent of them first and in a louder voice. Was around for the shameless swiftboating of Kerry and saw what they did to poor ole Max Cleland.Etc etc ad nauseum ad infinitum.

For some reason I just don't think they are gonna make it stick this time.

Go Warren.

indirectly accepting Wall Street money...

From the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee. That would be the key difference since it's not coming directly from those donors. This article is retarded.

2012-01-07 12:25:13 PM
Because all corporations are evil. Just like all things shared via torrents are illegally acquired intellectual property.

Subby fails.

Oh, if they only had a brain. Maybe they wouldn't have to make up arguments.

She's not anti-corporation, she's anti corruption and consumer rape. She also didn't take Wall St. money, the DSCC did. And if Wall St. wants to give money to someone who will address their ills why is that even a problem?

She doesn't worship corporations as infallible paragons of society, therefore she must be a socialist hippie who wants to disband all corporations. Duh.

Oh and thanks Subby, I just contributed to Warren again. If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have realized Brown had $1 million more in the bank than she does.

Ha ha libs, the real Elizabeth Warren that some of you admire is nothing like the fake Elizabeth Warren caricature I have created to loathe. This makes you all look bad for some reason.

Isn't there some procedure for removing headlines that are, I dunno... an abject lie, as demonstrated by the article they link to?

Done in one.

Oh, and if all the articles smearing Warren as a tool of the corporations being submitted are anything to go by, the right wing is running scared and going full Rove.

WTF Indeed: How dare anyone accept that capitalism is the best form of economics, yet it has it's own flaws and needs to be tempered to allow for the growth of society!

This isn't about capitalism. It's about lobbying, crony-capitalism, bribery, and deceit. It's rampant, and I'm not the least bit surprised that Warren would get caught up in it.

Don't mock capitalism or dismiss things like this as immaterial.

wejash: You'd think some rational business people would step forward who wanted to reform that mess to save capitalism. And they do...they just do it by sending people like Liz money.

The infusion of govt into business - and vice versa - is exactly why the so-called regulations (which ideologues swear will solve our problems) end up serving the interests of corporations. Jesus Christ, would you not laugh in someone's face if they told you that Wall St lobbyists were funneling money towards any random and influential DC peddler out of "rationality, and to save us"? Who do you think gets to engineer these reforms and regulations when they are created? Who gets to rig the game in their favor? The only thing better than having no referee in the ring is to bribe the referee so you win no matter what.

I have nothing against Warren (aside from her pleading for principal reduction.... absurd). She seems to be honest and well-meaning, just like a lot of people who enter the meat grinder. But she is working under the influence of lobbyists to push for more regulations. Why wouldn't she push for campaign finance reform? No corporate backers, because they cannot win under such a scenario, which ought to tell you everything about how her agenda will not help our country. If there is any sort of corporate or collective backer, you and I will lose in the end.

Do you even know what capitalism is?? If I understand your sarcasm, I'm supposed to accept lobbying and interest-peddling in our over-extended federal legislative system because - and assuming I'm pro-capitalist - I believe in free trade and free markets?

How the f*ck do you people make these disconnected leaps?

2012-01-07 12:59:13 PM
Sorry, not outraged, Subby. Warren isn't anti-corporations, she's about responsible consumerism, preferably by working with corporations. Plus, not all corporations are bad; some actually may attempt to do the right thing. So if a corporation wants to support Warren because of her stance because it recognizes the value of social responsibility? Yeah, I'm okay with that.jpg
