So, this morning I got out of bed, which is something that I couldn't do if I was dead.

I had a coffee and a cigar for breakfast.

Then I sat next to the window with my white angora cat and rocked in my rocking chair for a while.

I miss the days when I had the stamina to give eight hour speeches. It was like playing musical chairs, only the first guy to sit down gets shot. It goes on until there are enough chairs for everybody except me, and then I sit down and the guy who complains about not having a chair gets shot.

Well, that's the way it was. Now I am bored.

I am an old man with nothing to do.

I have out-lasted more U.S. Presidents than Helen Thomas and my hey day is past. Still, I can take comfort in the fact that a lot of people are crazy-eyed furious just because I am still breathing. After over 600 assassination attempts, I think I can say with some confidence that they can't take that away from me.

Funny how one hears people saying this in all seriousness -- perhaps not you personally, but I have heard clueless twats on the Left extolling the dictator- for- life Castro for "outlasting" democratically- elected US presidents who have term limits. Yeah, that's a real f*cking badge of honour right there.

I think Castro's point is that a lot of those U.S. Presidents have been trying to kill him. Helen Thomas, not so much. Maybe Nixon. Possibly Bush Jr. Or Steve Colbert.
