Pick up lines taken from this debate:

"I'm a cause guy, I'll cause your panties to drop"
"I've got a search warrant...for your vagina."

2012-01-07 10:11:25 PM
So these guys support the US invading any nation whose people are protesting its government or what?

coco ebert: I'm very critical of Obama's foreign policy but on this issue I agree with you. I think he played it very well (of course we don't know what covert shenanigans were going on).

THAT'S THE OTHER THING!! If we were helping that revolution, we should NEVER find out about it. It was COVERT!!

They should just have to keep going straight through for the next 14 hours.

Jaykzo: shivashakti: Paul's a nut but he's right here.

When it comes to foreign policy and civil liberties, he's one of the best.
(imo)

Yeah, but that's sort of like saying "My molesting uncle is my favorite uncle because he takes me to ball games and to Coney Island." Paul has a bunch of good ideas, and a bunch of truly insane ideas that would devastate this country's economy and lead to a ton of Americans living in abject, crushing poverty. The big picture doesn't paint him as anyone who should be NEAR the Oval Office.

I want to hear what they think should happen if Obama vetoes/rejects Keystone. At this point I'd put money on at least two of them (Perry and Santorum) saying "invade Canada".

2012-01-07 10:12:42 PM
Here's the answer to the Catholic Charities question. (new window)

Basically they said, thanks but no thanks, we don't want your money.

So yeah, he's wrong.

Are republicans seriously considering voting for these people?? Do they not wince when they hear them speak? This shiat is hilarious and horrifying at the same time. Huntsman is lost in the froth.

I lold, and totally see your point, but still reject it. I think the good that Paul would do for this country far outweighs the bad that he could do.

But he isn't going to win, so it's just a matter of preference and fantasy at this point.

And see that's perfectly ok with me.

However if you want to take government money, you have to play by government rules. Enough said.

Jaykzo: There will never be a candidate with whom I agree 100%, and there is a good portion of Paul's platform that I could never get behind. Even with that, I can't find another candidate who I agree with as often as I do with Paul. The closest runners-up have been Kucinich and Gravel from last cycle, and I certainly support the efforts of Bernie Sanders.

Same here. Loved Kucinich, Gravel, and love Sanders.
But Paul wants to end Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid... He's serious when he talks about "smaller government". I'd love to see cuts to the military but not to so-called 'entitlements'.

As such, I can't support Paul. Then there's vague hints of racism, homophobia, and misogyny.

Romney- stop calling Massachusetts "my state". You don't live here. You no longer have an address here. You sold your house. No one likes you.

Pick another state. You're a bad ex-boyfriend who keeps sending us a friend request. No.

It would probably never fly but I would love to see a Paul/Kucinich ticket. They agree on a LOT of issues

Show me a country where the private sector has funded, built, and successfully run infrastructure systems for christ's sake.

Oh, and I WISH Obama gave us a European-style social welfare state, particularly since they have HIGHER income mobility than we do.

what's happening is they're repeating themselves so often through so many debates that the rubes sitting at home watching and taking this seriously start to believe this pants-on-head-count-to-potato crap these psychos are saying.

Huntsman- I would have fixed the tax code.

How? Congress blasted that out of the water.

Great, Santorum, your five deductions are only applicable to old people.

This is why Obama won the youth in 2008 and will again in 2012.

2012-01-07 10:19:36 PM
Is it just me or is Santorum pretty much just stringing random words together now?

I'm currently under the impression that a President Paul would offer the ability for young people to opt out of social security, and espouses a "transitional period" where the program can be phased out. That may be a terrible idea, but it's not nearly as heinous as the extreme position of ending it right out.

As for the racisim, homophobia, and misogyny.... I honestly don't believe the guy is racist. He is definitely afraid of the gay (Bruno taught me that), but he's said multiple times that the the government has no business interfering in marriage. He doesn't go to bat for gay people, but I have no reason to believe he'd go out of his way to prevent gay couples from getting married. I'm in the dark on the misogyny charge, am I missing a story from a news cycle?

Old people are Santorum's target demo. Nobody else is thinking that the biggest problems with the country involve casual farking and gays.

"Taxes are too high" - Romney

Really? THEY ARE AT THE LOWEST EVER!

2012-01-07 10:20:26 PM
Romney: "We're only inches away from not being a free economy".

To the tax cuts, light speed!

2012-01-07 10:20:31 PM
Santorum: Cut corporate tax in half to 17% from 35%.

And that's the other reason he's up there.

Mawson of the Antarctic: Great, Santorum, your five deductions are only applicable to old people.

That's appropriate since that's pretty much the only people who will support someone who is for making birth control illegal... Well, that and a minority of religious nuts.

I would so campaign for this ticket... I'd knock on doors like a Jehovah's Witness to have a Paul/Kucinich or Kucinich/Paul ticket. They're both crazy, they both don't give a shiat about what people think about their nuttiness, they both actually care about this country.

They do, but where they disagree they disagree vehemently. They get along well personally, and they've found it convenient to ally on certain issues, but either one would be happy to expound at length about why you should never, ever vote for the other.
