Surprisingly good. I may have a small crush on the blonde...

Pretty good. Hopefully they can earn more money to afford more instruments.

I wonder if they meant to use a slightly modified version of "Baa baa black sheep" in there.

that was actually a good song. Good for them. BTW, this is one of the reasons I really love the internet. What do you thing the chances of this song/band EVER being heard 20 years ago?

Why is that guy in the middle pissed off at me?

Here is a single guy doing a better job by himself than all five of them together.

Good find.

It takes 'tons of talent' to press a few frets on the guitar and pass off the rest to 4 other peeps doing the same thing? Um, no.

I imagine all five sleep in double bed together just because their so used to the proximity of each other.

Not a chance.

My favorite one is the "nice to see the kid from August Rush all grown up."

It made me LOL because I paused the video about 15 seconds in and posted it to somebody's facebook with "I know you liked August Rush. You'll LOVE this!"

Well, it's a cover of a song that gets played on regular radio... so pretty good?

i picked up on that in the intro as well. perhaps they took a page out of the 2012 hip hop book?

I saw Andy McKee, Stephen Bennett, and Antoine Dufour in concert together a few months ago. Seeing those 3 guys on stage together was an amazing experience, especially when they got out their harp guitars.

Audio guy here. It sounds too good to be a recording of the performance in the video. I think they're just playing along with a previous recording. That brings up the question of if they made the real audio recording with five people one guitar (why bother, just overdub it). OMG my brain...

/maybe you agree and don't mind shattering this illusion of internet brilliance

Farking awesome find subby! If you can just arrange a date/night of freaky weasle sex with Blonde Chick for me, I shall award you +5 internets.

Here is another awesome cover:

I though long and hard on this and I must admit, it's kinda stupid.

Don't get me wrong, it's not the music, if I turn off the monitor the music is quite enjoyable, but the whole video just screams "look at us we're pretentious attention whores" and it's kinda a turn off.

It was pretty enjoyable. I actually watched the whole thing through.

But I was laughing ALL THE WAY THROUGH....

strapp3r: original artist & groovy video (new window)

very good cover!

Yup, Gotye won pretty much every ARIA music award in Australia last year for this song, and the YouTube vid has had over 33 million views since July 2011. But it hasn't been played on Top 40 radio in America once, probably because there's no autotuning, rap, swearing or stupid choreographed dancers in it.

The body langage in the original Gotye video is fantastic, and Kimbra looks as cute as the blonde in this cover version.

No, everything a Kardashian does screams "look at us we're pretentious attention whores." Sometimes a thing is just fun and clever. Learn the difference; it could save your life.

I dunno...

I'm not going to go as far as the OP and say "attention whores," but it is still kinda just a gimmick. The one dude and the chick have pretty good voices, though. If they were to spend their time doing boring shiat like modal exercises and trying to sight-read instead of trying to draw attention to themselves, they could probably end up being really good musicians.

And for the record, I think some of those Andy McKee videos are just kinda gimmicky, too. Why not just get another dude to play the bongos, and free yourself to write a composition that is actually interesting beyond the novelty factor?

Of course it's a gimmick. Too bad some people nowadays just can't get past the clean fun of it.

Cool music video, but sure doesn't sound like a live recording.

The singers sound like they're behind a pop filter in a studio booth, not anywhere from 2-4 feet away from the mic. Proximity just doesn't match. The long-haired guy also sounds like he's been ... autotuned? Or at least there was some good studio finesse-ing done on his voice to keep it in tune. Sounds a bit too "perfect" to me.

Could be I'm wrong.

I don't mean to hate on it - good execution of a good concept.

/I want to be the "percussionist" next to the cute blonde

I was actually wondering how the blonde chick and the guy in the middle were playing the same strings. Theoretically, it's possible, but it's likely to sound like shiat. He couldn't play a note longer than she does and would have to constantly adjust his hands to where hers are.
