This is what educators would call a teachable moment and administrators would call covering a budget short fall. let the young lady submit a dozen similar photos and feature them in the center of the year book. This would greatly increase sales covering and recent budget cuts and teach the student body about marketing.

People get to chose their picture for the yearbook? Ours were pure mugshot. All it was missing was the card with a number on it.

Yearbook is put out by a group of students, usually seniors, so they get a new 'yearbook company' pretty much every year. The staff on the yearbook want awards because they look good on college applications.

As much as I think this is a big stink over a non-racy photo, I am afraid that the end result will be that the school will simply decide not to have yearbooks. Can the whole thing, avoid dealing with the bad publicity (and a potential meeting with an ACLU lawyer), avoid future problems caused by whatever precedent got set as a result of this debacle, and save a couple thousand bucks in the process. It is a win-win for the school, and once again the only people who would be out as a result are the students. And they don't count.

So the mom tells her to pick a better photo than the slutty one but the daughter defies her and puts it in anyway. Now the mom wants to sic the ACLU on the school for allowing the slutty picture.

High-quality parenting going on there.
