fark you, Cyborg. I gave you the benefit of the doubt with your freakish muscle mass because you weren't testing positive. You owe Gina Carano that win that you musclefarked through.

Yeah, this is disappointing though not exactly surprising. There is a fight between Ronda Rousey and Meisha Tate tomorrow night, though I think it's for bantamweight.

Gina Carano is apparently starring in an action movie that's gotten decent reviews so far. Directed by Steven Sodebergh. With Bill Paxton. And Antonio Banderas. And Michael Douglas

You can't be serious. Seriously? Can you be serious at all? The benefit of the doubt? She looks like a monster. Gina Carano, when she was fighting, worked out nonstop. She trained with the best. She's a big girl, her leg and arm muscles are pretty damn big for a female (although its easily overlooked because she's pretty with big natural boobs), and she had plenty of mass to work into muscle. Cyborg murder-farked her.

Link (new window) Gina Carano sports science, just to see how badass she was.

There is no way she was clean, women cannot become that strong naturally. They can be ridiculously powerful (like Carano was) but not as strong as a crazy well trained man. Thats what Cyborg is.

The worst part about this is the psychological effect it had on Carano, she is basically retired. Dana White said he'd love to have her back, and stripped Cyborg of her title. Hopefully she comes back so we can have some real fights in WMMA and not a freak farking monster destroying everyone.

Next thing you're going to tell me is that Alistair Overeem and Lesnar aren't roiding. Benefit of the doubt for them? It's more believable than having it for Cyborg.

I just googled that fight and watched it. That was an ass beating. And you were right she just got completely out muscled as Cyborg just literally walked right thru everything she threw at her.

With the name Ongbak you'd probably like to see a few of Caranos other fights, if you google them. She is big into Muay Thai. Her other fights, Carano is really good, but never as ridiculous as Cyborg. It's the difference between being skilled (although not so much at RNC lol) and properly trained and being a roided out monster.

Definitely. Carano looked like a dancer or gymnast while Cyborg looked like, well, a man.

Of course, the problem with Carano is twofold: 1) She can't make a real weightclass that is competitive consistently and 2) I don't think she has the heart to go back when she's going to make a pretty good dollar just being hot in movies, doing voiceover work for games, and, hell, she can even make a real good goddamned living modeling as a healthy sized(albeit athletic) woman.

Yeah, Carano is a big girl, so aside from Cyborg (and the other girls Cyborg murder-farked out of the division) she has a hard time finding legitimate competition. If womens MMA was bigger then she would definitely be able to be a champion for a long time, but there isn't enough competition at her weight class (that isn't a monster)

Also I guarantee the 2.) point you had is all Cyborg. Carano was basically raped in that fight. She did about as much as anyone could do to train over the years, outside of roiding, and she got manhandled (literally).

Psychologically she hasn't recovered. Every interview I've seen with her since then has been her usual cute, shy self and a severe apprehension to fighting again. Part of me hopes her movie bombs (shouldn't be too hard, doesn't look that good) so she could go back to fighting. Hopefully this suspension opens it up.

Yet Cyborg will figure out how to roid again, but smarter, and it'll all be moot. See Chael Sonnen.

Yeah but he ain't nowhere near as pretty as she is, although a hug is always nice lol.

As to the eyes being open it really doesn't mean much, I've seen guys pass out from numerous things and sometimes their eyes stay open and other times they close. With sometimes the same guy same situation and sometimes open, sometimes closed. However I will qualify this by saying I don't have anywhere near the expertise to know if something was done wrong in the link.

Matt Hughes did a photo shoot at the gym that 2 of my friends do their MMA training at. After he was done with the photo shoot he took pictures with the guys at the gym. The only catch was that the picture had to be of him putting you in a rear naked choke. My friend said that Hughes just wasn't posing, he was actually choking everybody he took a picture with and some guys were nearly going out.

Yeah you are right lol. I don't have any expertise other than seeing a bunch of people get choked out during fights, no proper training or the like. A lot of it could have to do with Carano being beautiful then him being like "aw soft tits on my back, wait, no oxygen" and Fedor being (at the time) 30-0, undefeated for 10 years in MMA and the most feared man there was, and his panic attack causing a quicker reaction.

Definitely take the hug from her over Fedor, although a Fedor hug would be cool (no homo).

Indeed. I can't understand why Josh Barnett is so bad at it. He seems way out of shape even when roiding so he could just be lazy. I'm a fan of Chael (mostly because of his awesome promotion skills) but Cyborg roiding against poor, adorable Carano seems just wronger in my opinion (although I know it's the same deep down).

Coolest guy I know in MMA is Joker. If you ever have a chance to train at his gym, it's worth it. One of the best teachers I've seen.

Where is his gym? I feel pretty lucky that I live close to Orem, UT which as a pretty damn good MMA gym. They were just franchised by Chuck Lidells trainers. The only worry I have is that if I go there to learn proper technique I'm going to try to whoop douchebags asses.

Lake Forest, CA. Very newbie friendly, but also very good if you want to take it seriously.

And it's always tough with MMA gyms. You also have Team Punishment down here, which has it's share of knuckleheads(parking lot full of raised trucks and a gym full of bros.. horrible). One gym I'd like to try is Erik Paulsen's.. they teach catch wrestling and submission wrestling, and Josh Barnett is one of the instructors(awful with the roids, but a wizard on the ground)

As much as I hate defending Sonnen, it wasn't about steroids as his t-levels were in the normal range. It was the fact that he didn't clear his testosterone replacement therapy with the commission first.

I hate to break it to you guys, but a LOT of mma fighters are juicing. Not just steroids/hgh, but also EPO.

Just off the top of my head, if the following four are clean I will eat my own socks:
Georges st. Pierre (there is no way to be that lean, strong and energetic all at the same time without roids and EPO)
Alistair Overreem (obvious)
Brock Lesnar (well, now retired, but should be obvious)
Frank Mir (has talked about putting on 40 lb of muscle in one year -- at his age and with his workout history, there is no way that is possible)

Its still Waif-fu though because most of the guys she is beating up are ALSO well trained combatants. Its a proportionate thing. As well trained as Carano is, she would be mauled by a male MMA fighter in equivalent weight class.

Trained female > untrained male
trained female =if

GSP is no more lean or muscular than any number of NFL DB's or high-level athletes in any sport. When it's your job to make your body a machine, that's all you ever do, you have awesome genetics, and train with the best trainers in the world for close tto a decade, that's what you end up looking like.

Overreem is a juicer.

Lesnar clearly WAS in his rasslin's days, and probably wasn't "clean" for the entirety of his UFC days, but his phtsique changed dramatically after he quit rasslin'. Smaller legs, his muscles were far more loose... he clearly wasn't on the same type of program.

Mir has always toyed with his weight, and naturally walks around 240-250, it wasn't a big deal to see him take a year to go up to ~270.
