I like TPM's content, but the site often causes my browser to stop responding (whether IE or Firfox, in XP, Win7 or even Ubuntu). I've even donated money to the site, but the god damn page design does something that up to date browsers don't seem to like.

Never had a problem with Chrome.

I'm currently reading that classic 80s post-apocalyptic book Swan Song, and I can't help but seeing McCain as the Col. Macklin character. Now I just have to wonder if McCain has his own Shadow Soldier that is responsible for all his bad ideas, like foisting Palin on the American people.

Remember folks:

UNEMPLOYMENT GOES UP between now and the election, it's because people are worried about Obama being reelected.

UNEMPLOYMENT GOES DOWN between now and the election, it's because people are anticipating a Republican victory.

Got that?

There are a couple of sites that causes even Chrome to lock up for a few seconds, but it recovers usually no more than 5-10 seconds later (Gizmodo, Wired, a couple of others). This page caused a 3 second lockup.

Chrome always freezes the first time I open it.

/I think it is probably my comp rather than the browser.

WhoIsWillo: mrshowrules: shroom: I_Am_Weasel: That'll be one of the easiest campaign commercials that the Obama camp will produce this year.

"Even Senator McCain agrees..."

And even better, Mittens' campaign has explicitly stated that this type of videoediting is A-okay, so I say run with it.

Too bad Obama has too much class for that.

Which is why I need for form a PAC.

I'm in.

You'll have to wait till March 5, I should be recovered from the bar exam by then.

It's entirely possible that John McCain has been wreaking a slow and subtle vengeance on the Republican party since the moment that picture was taken.

At least, I can't find a good, quick counterargument for that theory.

This will be the most tragilarious presidential campaign ever. Obama can almost say nothing until Romney is tepidly nominated, then just replay everything that was said and done during the Republican primaries... and yet it's not a lock for Obama, though it is his election to lose. Enough people find Obama and Romney similar in actions and past statements that turnout may absolutely stink, with the result turning upon which candidate alienates the fewest ideologically-motivated party supporters.

I liked the slow reaction of the crowd.

It took the crowd three seconds to start laughing, the handler two more seconds to realize she had really just heard what she thought she did and step in to fix it.

wow what an amazing freudian slip

so one devastating ad is just going to be titled "Ooops!"

and these out-takes will be enough to sink the Republicans

(and betcha that's the last time anyone wheels McCain out, ever)

The saddest thing is that the "handler" is Nikki Haley, who is supposedly the best and brightest that the GOP has.

No, strike that. The saddest thing is that it took Mitt Goddamn Romney himself the exact amount of time to realize the mistake.

If the biggest gaffe Obama has ever made is saying "states" when he meant "primaries" he's doing pretty well.

Fortunately, we will not have John McCain speaking with Rick Perry as a surrogate.

That graphic is even better now the Caucus is over. Goes to show "expert" predictions mean squat.

Funny I thought that graphic was a poll of likeky voters taken six weeks or so ahead of the caucuses, not a prediction by experts of what the final result could be.

Or do you think those are the same thing?

2012-01-07 06:45:02 AM
So, if Romney can turn "Senator McCain's campaign actually said, and I quote, 'If we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose.' " into Obama saying "If we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose" then I guess the Democrats can use this McCain "endorsement" in an ad supporting Obama.

/would probably hurt Obama more than help.
//Would still be pretty funny...

2012-01-07 07:19:07 AM
I believe a campaign comercial should be made of the clip with just the part where he says President Obama will turn the country around and use it against Romney. I know it will take the quote out of context, but considering Romney did the same thing to Obama in his first ad turnabout is fair play.
