Imagine my disappointment that it isn't Christoforo that did the donations.

Bastard deserves his comeuppance.

Agreed, although imagine my lack of surprise. I doubt he thinks he did anything wrong. I am fairly certain that he didn't learn a damned thing from this episode other than "avoid paper trails."

what's funny about those emails is that, by the end, you can see that a new guy was hired, and started trying to get themselves out of the Grand Canyon sized hole that had been dg for them.

Good. Let this be a lesson for all businesses to vet their partners/contractors more closely.

It's a shame, too, because apparently some people had high hopes for this device to help gamers with certain mobility issues. Or so I read when the story broke.

Nah, he made it clear that he was very sorry he got caught, so he has learned something.
I suspect in the future, he will conduct more of his assholishness over the phone.

It would be like spoiling the end of Harry Potter or Gone with the Wind. it's just too entertaining and doucebaggy. ( Snape Kills Scarlett over a carrot in the Ministry of Magic using the Fiddle Dee Dee Curse.)

im pretty sure he meant to say "son Im 38 I was on the internet when you were a sperm in your daddys balls and before it was the internet"

but somehow the word "website" got entered in between the w and a in the word "was" and then added a space which resulted in the "i wwebsite as on the internet" line

2012-01-06 07:29:00 PM
things i learned from reading the comments on the kotaku article version.

1. gizmodo has professional trolls
2. people actually use the steam forums. (I've had a steam account for donkey's but the first time I visited the forums was over the toki-tori christmas achievment)
3. going completely off topic in the Weeners and it being sustained, not too shabby.

Woooooowwwww:

Even though the Ocean Marketing president blames his "bad day," Christoforo, who originally attended Newbury College in Boston to study the culinary arts, doesn't believe customer service was his place to begin with.

Dude...it's a PR firm...customer service is, like, the ONLY PART OF THE JOB.

Since I can't read TFA at work, it basically says that the company that made the Avenger donated 10k to child's play because Christoforo is a dick?

Nah, there were several private networks like Prodigy, Compuserve, and AOL that weren't necessarily fully internet connected before the advent of the web. I remember dicking around on Gopher and Telnet before getting my hands on the beta version of NCSA Mosaic for this new web thingy. It wasn't "will the browser work right?" but "how many pages will I get into before the browser crashes the entire computer?"

Ye gods, I can't tell you how much nicer modern broadband connections are than the old SLIP dialup connections too.

So people still care about this?

Didn't you nerds get winded over the last couple of threads from over a week ago?

Now you're supposed to be pissed at that basketball kid who pwned all those other players like the jocks did to you in high school

Good on them. This company really didn't do (much) wrong other than hire a crappy CS guy, who they later fired. That lawyer guy who will not be named (because I can't remember it and don't care enough about him to bother to Google) never did pony up a donation but was supervillainy evil.
