As a Raiders fan this is hard game to watch. I can't cheer for Denver, but I also don't like Pittsburgh (Raiders/Steelers rivalry was great back in the day).

Look, I am no Broncos fan, but I've always liked the option. Some college teams have won national championships running it, and I've always wanted to see an NFL team try it. If you want the same boring shiat all the time, great, but I like innovations. Some of them fail. But some of them lead to entirely new offenses and defenses that get adopted all over the league (e.g., West Coast offense).

In fairness, the guy is the age of the average rookie. Give him a couple years and the GM some time to build around him and see if it works. Either cool new offense or epic fail, but hardly boring.

I feel kinda bad for him. It seems he was just tossed in there to sink or swim.

He was somewhat, since McDaniels was shiatcanned before he did anything with him(Ironically, a decent amount of McDaniels' moves turned out right). I mostly think, given he arguably had a better year than Mark Sanchez's first year and things like JaMarcus Russell getting 27 games as a starter, given Tebow has actually won games(Unlike JaWalrus), giving him a year to see if he can raise that % up would be good. Maybe hire a specialist QB coach.

He started off doing pretty good, but then it turned out he was a headcase. He had INT problems year two, but he had raised his completion % to a decent level, while his first year was 19 TDs(Rushing + Passing) to 13 INTs, not bad.

In 2009 and 2010, he also had good years, of 12 TDs(2 rushing + 10 passing) to 7 INTs and a 58.7% completiong % starting 10 games in 2009 and lowering that down to 3 INTs to 10 TDs(All passing) the year after with a 59.6% completion % starting 8 games in 2010. Vince Young was a good QB who could be considered dangerous, but a total farknut basketcase, as seen when Jeff Fischer started Rusty Smith over him after he flipped in 2010 and Bud Adams booting his ass out.

No, I just don't think injuries are a valid excuse for winning or losing, especially if the "more injured" team is still more talented even without the players unable to play. Both teams are missing a safety and an OL. One is missing a RB to boot, which shouldn't matter at all because individual RBs aren't terribly important. The OL and safety issues are much more damaging.
