Meh.. It's just a harmless little probation violation.

It's not like he farked a whole bunch of 10 year old boys in the ass.

Um, "star WR" and "them?" Sounds like subby is in the same classes as the rest of the dumb FB players -- but it sucks to be stupid and not be able to do the 40 in 4.3

He has to suspend him at this point, or a lot of Michigan fans will have egg all over their faces from the Chris L. Rucker meltdown. If not though, I still expect those hypocrites to spin it as if it is not the same.

He was a key player on the team that finally beat Ohio State?
There are many things that can be overlooked.

Their season is over and any disciplinary action won't take place until August. What's the harm in waiting until all the info comes out?

PoochUMD: Their season is over and any disciplinary action won't take place until August. What's the harm in waiting until all the info comes out?

All of the info is already out. He lied to his probation officers face about how he got to the court, was pulled over and charged with driving on a suspended licences, and was sentenced to 10 days in jail today because of it. This is after he already had two dui's, multiple other probation violations and failure to attend his AA meetings. He was "suspended" (read, redshirted, able to practice & travel with the team) all of last year because of these previous problems with the law and on the thinnest of ice. He obviously hasn't learned his lesson, so fattso needs to drop the hammer on him.

He was suspended from the team for the entire season. Maybe he was a good cheerleader, but he didn't do much in the game against the team from ohio this past season because he was/is still suspended.

Is he a good player?
Can a technical case be made to allow him to play without too much backlash?
Is he a really good player?

The answer to those three questions will determine whether he plays. If the answer to #3 is yes than the answer to #2 is irrelevant.

Looks like a new contender enters the race for the Big Ten's inaugural Lawrence Phillips-Maurice Clarett Award for Off-field Excellence. The nominees:

- Joe Paterno
- NU volleyball player Lauren Cook
- Michigan standout Darryl Stonum

Am I missing anyone?

Why don't you post some of them and open it up to the voting public?

People should probably read the entire article. He was suspended when he was first arrested for the DUI....

Oh, I see this article doesn't mention that. One second....

From a more competent (yet still pretty shiatty) sports news sourse:

"The Stafford, Texas, native was suspended indefinitely in May 2011 by Michigan coach Brady Hoke after being arrested for driving while visibly impaired. Stonum was sentenced to two years' probation in June, and redshirted this season."

I really hope Brady Hoke drops the bannination hammer on this guy, and then gets him some AA help.

/I also wish President Gora and Tom Collins would DIAF for letting him get away those many years ago
