13 year old 8th grade girls?

I think my brother was 15 in the 8th grade, mostly because he had to start school late due to a heart operation he had when he was 5 or 6. Kind of set you back. He'll be 50 next year.

Probably a combination of repeating a grade plus having a birthday past the enrollment cutoff date.

Locally you have to be 5-years old before September 30th in order to enroll in kindergarten. Otherwise, you wait until the following September to start.

At my sons kindergarten in Florida there was an 8 year old kindergartner so not to far fetched. He got most athletic for his year end award. I whispered to my wife "Its because hes the only kid here who can slam dunk a basketball" His parents were right in front of us an overheard me. The death look I got from the mother was pure evil.

Poor kid. There was an 8-year old boy in my son's first grade class. His family was homeless and moved around a lot.

Yea I remember a 15 year old... in 7th or 8th, can't remember. Pretty sure he was homeless, too. I only found out how old he was when I found his driver's license in a desk one day (didn't check to see what the address said).

It's double tough on these kids. Not only are they homeless, but they're often ridiculed for being older than the other students in their grade.

We tried to get the parents of the 8-year old boy to go to the Eugene Mission, but when they found out that they would be separated, they refused. I can't say that I blame them, though. They didn't have much in this world, except each other. Nowadays, there's housing for homeless families that allows them to stay together, back then such a thing wasn't available.

I was 17 when I was a freshman in college. I was therefore 12 in 8th grade.

This kid must have been retarded.

I graduated from high school when I was 17.

When I was in 8th grade we did have a kid that was 17 in our P.E. class but he was retarded and the coaches always had to slap him with a ruler to keep him from beating off on the toilet while we were in the locker room.

I was 14 during 8th grade. This guy is only one year off, not so unusual.

Obviously the one thing that polite precocious child never learned was to drop the mother farking weapon when the mother farking police tell you to.

That reminds me of when I was in 8th grade, I'd get hit by a ruler by the PE coach for beating off...

I just read the article (I know, after my Boobies, yeah yeah).

The article suggests that he wasn't in one but then they mention that a gang showed up at his funeral saying that they'd beat up anyone who spoke ill of him. That's pretty clear that he's in that gang...

So the question remains- When did Texas get taken over by gangs?

2012-01-06 02:23:30 PM
"and street gangs are now faced with explaining the tragedy to their children." I hate when they have to do that. These kids should already know tragedy by now.

Lethal Weapon? We were playing with these in 5th grade. Thank God we didn't take them to school to shoot each other during lunch. I'd be a dead man.

The kid in my school was massive, well over 200 pounds. No one was going to point out to this kid he didn't have a home and live to tell about it. As I recall, he hung around with some other... toughs.

He was a good kid and a great father, he was just about to turn his life around and start taking care of kids. But then some pig decided to be judge, jury and executioner. Where is the justice?

I remember a 15-year-old kid in my 8th grade class (he had gotten held back twice) who got in trouble for driving to school one day. At the time, 15-year-olds got full licenses, so that in of itself wasn't a big deal.

Not all pellet guns have the safety orange tip. Some kids even like to paint over the ones that do. Also, it wasn't just having one that got the kid killed, it was having one and refusing to put it down when a bunch of cops had guns pointed at him. If you're that dumb, I don't think the world is a whole lot worse off without you.

2012-01-06 02:27:03 PM
I was one of the younger kids in my 8th grade class, and I turned 14 around the end of the school year. So the older kids in the class had turned 14 around the beginning of 8th grade,

This kid probably only had to be held back once to be a 15-year-old 8th grader.

I'm curious how many shootings were caused by gen 1 Megatrons.

I (also a Texan) was 15 in eight grade, thanks to having to repeat the first grade (long story). I also graduated cum laude with a BSEE degree.

I'd say 15 in eigth grade doesn't automatically make you a 'tard, but (if the police account is accurate), brandishing a pistol while cops are pointing guns at you does move a little more into 'tard territory.

2012-01-06 02:27:33 PM
If you're 18 when you graduate (12th grade) that would mean you're 17 in 11th, 16 in 10th, and 15 in 9th.

So big whoop. Not the first kid ever to be held back a single grade.

2012-01-06 02:27:42 PM
Also, Jesus subby! You ever heard of cut off dates? I was 15 in 8th grade without failing a year. It's not that uncommon. People like you that make that make fun of people for being different are the kind of intolerant bullies that make otherwise good folk snap. I bet you're fun to hang out with...

Douche.

2012-01-06 02:28:11 PM
Hmm...if he's repeating a grade, he was doing poorly.

Now he's doing more poorly than before.

2012-01-06 02:28:37 PM
My first thought was also, "a 15 year old in 8th grade?"

But really, that's not terrible. Could have started one year late or been held back one grade somewhere along the line. 8th graders are typically 13 or 14 years old.

Yeah, that gun is clear plastic with an orange cap. The gun the kid had was black (not sure of the material), was detailed like a real handgun, and had no orange cap. From a distance it looked like a real weapon.

That said, there had to be some way for the cops to diffuse the situation without shooting the kid.

If only this happened more often... I mean holding back students and not passing their unedumacated minds to the next grade.

/see too many of these morans in college...

2012-01-06 02:30:42 PM
When I was in Junior High, we played Killer. Even got the principal in on one of the games. But yeah, that sort of thing would probably get kids killed for real these days. You just can't have fun pretending to assassinate your friends anymore! What's this world coming to?

I was young for my class due to the cutoff and I turned 14 at the start of my freshmen year of college... this isn't that weird, subby.

How about bean bag shots? Less than lethal force compared to lead bullets (if used properly).
