Did anyone sue Mark David Chapman for murdering John Lennon? Probably not.

But that was before someone spilled coffee on themselves and got a fair amount.

You should have seen his fans in India when he died. They put up little shrines to him with garlands of flowers, incense, candles. People were crying. It was surreal.

Except that most of those people don't believe he actually did anything. Now those people that think he might have did something and make excuses for it, like Montell Williams, that's a different story.

Pretty much, unless you believe (as his lawyer said) he was just 'buying himself a good night sleep'

Does anyone else find it incredible how we will forgive someone for a horrible act because of some talen like Michael Jackson?

I dunno---of course he was never convicted. But this happening multiple times is a little shocking. Even if he didn't ever molest anyone, why did he keep letting kids into his life like this? That guy was definitely off...maybe not a molestor...but his judgement would lead me to believe otherwise.

Q: What do K Mart and Michael Jackson have in common?
A: They both have boys pants half off.

Where was all of this outpouring of love for Michael Jackson when he was being daily crucified in the media for possibly being a child molester?

I don't recall anyone stepping up to help him out after he nearly went bankrupt defending himself on trumped up charges -- later traced back to a kid and a greedy dad, who were never disclosed publicly.

I didn't see 'his people' roaring to his defense during the lengthy and often embarrassing trials. I do recall TV personalities making sex offender jokes about him -- a lot.

There seemed to be few people who stood up for him when his home was placed under the microscope and the public shown everything except his underwear and assorted 'professionals' made 'expert' observations about his child like mentality, potential pedophile behavior and harmless things he should NOT have done.

I noticed this and I was never a fan of his.

Now that he's gone, suddenly everyone is seeking retribution, except for going after the slime ball dad who made the false accusations that started the mess in the first place. Rumor has it he felt it was a good way to extort a few million from Jackson.

The physician, BTW, hasn't done anything different than any other personal doctor for the hugely famous or very wealthy.

Um, not true. If the cost of the payoff is less than the cost of a court battle, pay 'em off.

This happens all the time.

I'm not that surprised. There's a clothing shop (near passage Jeoffry, I think) where the owner doesn't show much clothing in the window because it's all taken up with a shrine to Michael Jackson.

/wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't a molester
//if I had no childhood I'd probably find kids weirdly fascinating too
///I've seen people who did have a childhood who can't stop acting/dressing/trying to hang out with people much younger than they are

I was nearly lynched when I went to Euro Disney and went to the 3D which featured Michael Jackson coming down in a lift like Frankenfurter in Rocky Horror Picture behind a group of kids. The French started to clap... I shouted out look out kids there is a Pedophile behind you! The clapping stopped... ever see a movie crowd turn ugly?

What farking world do you live in? Innocent people pay folks off all the time if they have the means, just to avoid the hassle of a BS trial and all the PR that comes with it. I bet that you're one of those folks who believes that there are no innocent people in prison too, aren't ya?
