His first order of business should be to ask God to give the Knicks the ability to play defense.

Cardinals are considered to be the pope's closest advisers and eighteen of the newly-appointed religious leaders, including Dolan, are under the age of 80.

Wow, the Catholic Church is really trying to get past their old, out of touch, not long for this earth image.

Cardinals 80 or over aren't allowed to vote in the conclave for a new pope. That's their effective retirement age.

This is not about privilege, change of colors, hats, new clothes, places of honor, or a different title. Jesus warned us about all that stuff," Dolan said.

No, I'm pretty sure it's about the hats.

Does this mean the dispute between MSG and Time Warner can be resolved now?

It's not news, it's .... [looks at top left of header] crap, Drew changed the motto?

But it's really not news... I guess I will be the 10th comment on this anyway.

Yeah, it's just a honor in those cases. The military has also been known to bump people up a rank right before retirement so they can retire as a General an Admiral or whatnot.

"Real news. Real funny."

Well, I guess it's a lot snappier than, "Stuff reported in the new plus some lists from Cracked, and on the right we have comments where people verbally abuse each other over stuff which may or may not be important."

A useless, anachronistic, parasitic, medievalist bigot in a black and red dress is still a useless, anachronistic, parasitic, medievalist bigot.

As a New York gay (the group Dolan actively persecutes), this gives me a sad... a fabulous sad.

I met Dolan a few times when he was Archbishop here in Milwaukee. He's one of the most friendly, intelligent, and dynamic leaders I have ever met.

He's one of the good guys mopping up the messes of the recent past.

Ugghhh...

I should have said "working on solving issues from the recent past" or something.

Poor wording aside, he's one of the good guys. If Rome ever decides to elect an American Pope, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the job.

Dolan is against gay marriage, abortion, birth control and the option of married clergy as well as women in the priesthood. He has referred to them as "closed" issues.

If anyone thinks he is other that a party line guy, despite his charming personality, you are mistaken.

The recent changes to the Catholic Liturgy are simply frontal assaults on Vatican II. Totally unnecessary, indicating a further shift to the conservative side.

I have sixteen years of Catholic education and I haven't considered myself a believer for over 20 years. Like many others, I am voting with my feet. For all practical purposes I have left the Church in particular and organized religion in general.
