Having splinters in your ass is fantastically uncomfortable- when building sets for shows back in school, I once slid across an unfinished piece of fiberboard and had a number of 1-2'' splinters drive themselves into my ass through my jeans. Moving AT ALL reminds you that they're in there, and it's quite difficult to tweeze them out yourself.

Though this guy's problem sounds considerably worse.
