(Atlanta Journal Constitution) Spiffy UGA student to attempt kick to win boat, RV, and $30K. In other news, if a UGA student could hit a field goal the Dawgs would have gone 12-2 this season   (ajc.com) divider line 18

With all the choke jobs going around, it really is the worst time ever to be a UGA and Atlanta sports fan.

What about the Dwags?

One of those losses to another team that would've gone undefeated if their kicker could kick a damn field goal.

I dunno.. I'm actually having a hard time picking Falcons-Giants this week.
Neither team has been stellar down the stretch. Yeah the Giants beat the Cowboys twice in almost as many weeks, and the Falcons nearly fortyburgered Tampa in the first half, but quality of opponent and all that. Both teams suck and both are more than capable of losing.

Guess I'll give the edge to the Giants based on the old "dome team on the road in the cold" adage.

He needs to make sure he wins the $30,000 just to pay the taxes on all the stuff he's getting before actually kicking. Yeesh.

Meh... I've moved on. Next year is actually looking pretty good to me. They're returning a lot of starters, plus some top recruits, and Murray will be another year older and better.

I'll take early action now on Northwestern beating MSU next year.

I will take that bet. One month of total fark?

Yeah. I'm glad the Falcons made the playoffs and all, but they just aren't good enough to win the conference championship, let alone a Superbowl. I would describe them the same way I describe the Braves: 'agressively mediocre'.

Yeah, but Richt will be back too. That's good for at least two automatic choke jobs.

So you can give a university student all of this as long as they don't actually play on the team? Would it be against NCAA rules if they sign the person later?

This is why the whole "we can't pay amateur players" is nonsense.

Well, they'll make the second round. Even with Umenyiora back, Eli and the Giants are what I would describe as "totally mediocre."

The Bestest: Falcons nearly fortyburgered Tampa

They did, it was 42-0 in the first half

Didnt vick and the falcons go up and beat green bay when he was here? I think it was the same year green bay beat the 49ers

The problem is that bobo isnt going anywhere, if hes back the team will be glaringly average yet again and Im sick of them letting off the gas when they get a lead of 10 or more. 3 runs into the middle of the line when you had run for 51 yards all day pretty much means bobo has not paid attention to the game at all, as long as hes there the offense will be sucky, lets hope one more year under grantham makes that defense a brick wall.

That kick should not have been necessary but he was put in a stupid situation and then they put more pressure on him so he just kicked it too low, it was sad since they had pretty much done what they wanted in the first half then farked up the 2nd half, just like a richt team. "We wouldnt want to hurt their egos by beating them by more than a FG, would we fellas? WWJD?" I will tell you what jesus would do, he would pour it on to show Christians arent to be farked with!!!!

Were you watching a different game than me? In no way shape or form had Georgia "done what they wanted in the first half". Blown coverage on a punt return and blown coverage on an insane deep ball in the closing seconds were the differences in the half.

Lets go over the first half possessions of Georgia:

START QTR POSS. YARD PLAYS YARDS RESULT
15:00 1 02:47 UGA 27 5 20 Punt
12:07 1 04:32 UGA 45 8 49 Turnover on Downs
03:13 1 03:23 UGA 11 6 48 Fumble
13:30 2 03:10 UGA 12 6 10 Punt
09:12 2 01:28 UGA 20 3 0 Punt
06:55 2 01:36 UGA 11 3 3 Punt
03:18 2 00:12 UGA 20 1 80 Passing Touchdown

Really blowing MSU out of the water with all of those turnovers and punts.

Granted, the Georgia defense was killing it the first half, but that stopped in the 2nd half.

Yes and barring two fark ups and a bad play call by bobo on a 4th down play it could have been 3 offensive TDs. Stats mean shiat, and I know its hard to fathom but the better team doesnt always win the game, they were doing well until the shiat play calling started by bobo.

The game was won, up 7 with under 4 minutes left, the clock should be easily run out but what happens? He runs the farking ball 3 times into the middle of the line, the only gains running the ball they got all day was getting it outside and up the field.

Bobo is an idiot and needed to be fired when willie martinez was fired.

You are joking right? The cognitive dissonance going on in your brain is stunning. In one breath you give Georgia a phantom touchdown, and in the next, tell me stats are for losers. I am going to go by the stats from the actual game, you can keep your made up ones. And no, Georgia was not guaranteed a touchdown on that drive and a field goal was anything but certain, as your kicker proved twice in overtime.

Also, no game is won, up by 7 with 4 minutes to play. Countless times we have seen teams run effective and efficient two minute drills to tie or win games in that exact same scenario. I am sorry that you blame the poor play calling, but I give credit to the Michigan State D-Line for stuffing a Georgia run again, just like they did all damn day.

I would say that the two teams are extremely evenly matched, but the better team won that day. MSU 33 - Georgia 30.
