Dear Santa Claus,

I've been praying so hard, please make the Wilpons sell. They're horrible, horrible owners and we hate them.

love,

Most Mets fans.

The ownership situation in MLB is somewhat interesting lately.

There's half a dozen groups bidding for the Dodgers, including one headed up by Joe Torre, who resigned from the MLB front office earlier this week to make the bid (which means the fix is in, sorry Cubes).

If Wilpon is forced to sell one way or the other, I wonder if any of the groups vying for the Dodgers would be interested. I hear James Dolan would very much like a baseball team.

Selling the team as part of a bankruptcy might be the most beneficial for the team and the fans. They're under a few historically bad contracts (like $30 million in deferred salary they're paying Bobby Bonilla through 2035, which will be 35 years after he last played an inning for them). I'm no financial whiz, but I hope that whatever happens, the sale does something with the debt that's choking the life out of the team.

Yay! David Wright can think he's an epic power hitter again and go back to striking out 170 times while improving his home runs from ~15 to ~25!

David Wright's thought process on pitch position.

NO....................NO.............NO

NO................WATCH..........NO

OMG SWING!.....NO.............NO

I so want to blame Ho Jo for this failing, which may have some credence as Wright was much better last year until he broke his back. I'm just hoping the walls moving in will make him relax more.

Now if we can move the left field wall in directly behind third base, Jason Bay may get his power stroke back again.

And yes, put me down as someone hoping the Wilpons sell the team. I know this is a dick New Yorker view, so no need to point it out, but few teams in the league should have the ability to out-overpay a New York Team. Same goes for a Los Angeles team for that matter.
