They really are doing this! They insert words into the video one at a time, just like the man claimed in the article.

I played back a porn tape from my local video store ONE FRAME AT A TIME, and was able to write the words down on paper as each appeared in frames with about six to eight regular frames in between. The message mine contained was "Be-sure-to-drink-your-Ovaltine".

I am still trying to figure out why Al Qaeda is doing this, but at least I know it is true now!

Well... sort of. Maybe. Could be.
The RUMOR is that they are embedding hidden messages in digital images using steganography. But there's no evidence of this at all. ONE guy had a book with Al-Quaeda phone numbers written in invisible ink. Supposedly. Even if true, it's not even close.
And the key to steganography is that the messages are, you know, hidden. Dude probably saw some artifacting that looked similar to arabic writing.
