no no no no nonononononononononononononono! NO!
Just got in from chorus reh, to this worse than bad news ....
If there's been poison coming thru the pipes, that means Alien's getting it too!
We all knew poor wee Benners' days were numbered, but not Gremlin too!
I need to stay up past threadclose to read. Saw 200 more than when we left for rehearsals, but didn't think this could've been then reason. Thought several somebodies
were just posting a bunch.

domari: I didn't check on FB for a while tonight, just saw Alien's post, feel l terrible, so sad for her. This just tore my heart out. :(
Oh I hope Gremlin will be ok. I know Ben has been sick for a while from other things, but Gremlin was doing just fine.
This just sucks so much.

She loved him so much; he brought so much joy. Please, please let Gremlin pull through.

mousiebelle: Our Alien needs us more than ever now. Not sure how to go about helping, though... Thoughts??

She needs a better apartment...she's mentioned mold and other things which did not contribute to good health for her or the kitties.

I can kick in a few US bucks towards a deposit...is someone close enough to help her go hunting?

it is agreed she needs a better place to live.

I was wondering the same thing. I know that there are Farkers that have contact info but I don't want to smother her. We just need to find a way to let her know that we're all here for her and that, figments or not, we all care very much.

It sounds like we need to find her a better place to live. Bloody Hell.

Wishing we could sue the crap out of the apartment owner, or something. Sounds like a shiathole, with all the things going on. All she wanted was a peaceful place to live with her kitties, she was so excited moving there, the place looked nice, she showed everyone photos of her new place and furniture, and I thought she'd have the chance to relax and be happy.
Then the fire alarms, the leak, the mold, raccoons, one damn thing after another.

Years ago I sued a ghetto apartment complex I lived in and was injured. When the lawyer asked what I expected to get out of it, I said I wanted enough money to never have to live like that again.

Nobody should have to live in hell because of slumlords who don't care care of buildings or care about those who live there.

Think on it until the next green. $20 per caturdayer would pay a deposit and first month's rent on something, especially if the lurkers kicked in. I don't know the public transportation situation where she lives, so I don't know about the car.

She has had difficulties with the public transportation available. She hates it and hates having to use it. She does have friends who can, and do, help her out with rides.

I AM HEARTBROKEN :*(
Because of the stuff that came up my pipes in my place - Gremlin and Ben Hurr were poisoned.
I held Ben Hurr as he took his last breath in my arms 8:00 tonight.
We are still fighting to save Gremlin's life.

I guess I am never meant to have any love in my life.

RIP my sweet Benner's, my little meat-ball head of disapproval looks. Momma loved you SO much and you fought so damn hard *crying* You were my little trooper. :*(

Oh, I am so sorry! Benners was eating and things sounded like they were doing better last week.....praying for Gremlin and Kim
:*(

Praying for you and Gremlin.

It's probably a dumb question, but how does our Alien feel about moving?
Her health is kinda iffy right now from what I understand...
We love her and want to help but what does SHE want (that we can do)?

This in no way means I'm pulling out, BTW...just want a direction in which to go.

Ok I work for the Department of Justice in Alberta and while it's not in anyway related to the DoJ in BC, I'll make some calls and inquiries and see about getting some retribution for Benners and Alien. I'll also see if there is some sort of BC agency that can help maybe the Department of Health will look into this sort of thing I know they do here.

I'm happy to throw in money to help with a move. I also have family that lives out in the Vancouver area I'll get in touch with them and pump them for information.

OK, not great but doable. That means housing is far more imperative. Anything that'll sicken a cat will sicken a Kim and she has problems enough with her health. The problem will be helping her find a place (assuming she wants to) that she can afford if we pitch in for the deposit/first month.

She mentioned last week that her building was condemned or going to be condemned. There was a sign in the lobby or hallway.
So I don't think she's going to have many options other than to move.

OK, so let's be practical. How much money are we looking at (not that I have any doubts about the Caturday Crew)...and the big question is who can help with looking?
I'm guessing that Kim's energy level is about sub-basement about now...she's gonna need a leg-person on the ground here.

Way off topic to a better time this eve, before the news -- I'll bring a pic of me next time. Actually, there's one that's not super current that's of both of us that turned up yesterday.

Everybody wants to do something RIGHT NOW. In this particular case, RIGHT NOW is a very bad time. We have a situation here where we have a lovely young lady who's been battling health problems for some time, is feeling alone and lonely, and just lost someone she cares deeply about. What she doesn't need is a bunch of pushy assholes from some damn website telling her what she has to do. What she needs is to know we'll help out however we can whenever she's ready to do something. That means we have to be patient and let her grieve and not push her into a decision she'll regret later.

DingleberryMoose is right, actually. Righteous Wrath hath a place, & while here & now may be that place, it mustn't slop over onto Alien. All we can truly do is decide we're gonna help, & offer. Not insist.
There was a Wheels project that started but didn't appear to get terribly far. ASAP whenever that can be, a Move is more important. But there we go, trying to decide for her yet again.

Sorry...my reaction to stuff like this is "do something practical right this instant" while I process shiat...
