q j.. any possibility that the burning house was 'downwind' and had left a window open, so 'noxious' fumes could get in and ignite?.. just wondering......

Finally caught up, but I think I'm gonna go back to bed... very tired and the snout's all sorts of snuffly today (really hope I'm not catching something!) Just got the guy back into the truck this morning, so it's just me and the kittehs in our little cave again. Currently on the crappy computator, so no new pics (waiting for the new power cord for the Mac to get here via mail... I HATE this laptop!!!) There was stuff I wanted to comment on, but I'm having a goldfish memory issue.... Lessee what I can remember.............

QJ - Glad your house didn't catch on fire, too!

Cooper & family - Sending lots of well-wishes!

And.... I forgot the handle of the person who lost the kitteh, but I'm sending lots of HUGS your way. Thank you for being a foster parent for kittehs! You get added to the "My Hero" list :)

predle: balisane: I don't usually do Caturday, despite the fact that we have four, but our foster cat, Sunny, died suddenly on thursday due to kidney failure (vet thinks he was pretty old, 15+) so... I'm just gonna sit here and soak it up, okay.

DingleberryMoose: So Mr. Steven just came up with a new idea all on his own. Over the past couple of days I've sewn ring slings for my wife and for a friend who just had a baby. One of them was made with a kinda stretchy fabric (similar to a men's underwear T-shirt) and there was a strip about 1/2" wide and 2' long left over. Steven pulled a chicken thigh bone from last night's meal and tied it to the end of the strip and now he's leading the cat around the kitchen with it. Now I get to walk the fine line between keeping long bones from the pets and stifling Steven's creativity...

I love Steven.

Hai guize! Thanks everyone for the prayers and good thoughts., It seems to be working!

Coop is doing good so far. His bladder was not full so the small amounts of pee we are seeing and the blood appear to be caused by him straining and not a blockage. It probably hurts having any urine in his bladder at all so he is straining to empty it as soon as it has anything in it. Because he was throwing up the antibiotics, he received an antibiotic shot and a scrip for a different antibiotic. He also received some fluids. We are still keeping a close eye on him but so far, so good.

Happy Caturday everybody!

I just got done trying to brush the Feline Overlords, they were not having it. Even with treats as a bribe, they HATE to be brushed. I actually think they tolerate having their teeth brushed better! Strange.

L33t Squirrel: Hop Along Cattiday: I had to Check out Ghost in the Shell to see what you were talking about...Kool Stuff...It took me a while to get used to having to Read the Subtitles...I may have to invest in that Evelyn Woods Speed Reading Course Afterall....

If you have access to Netflix, they do have it available for streaming, and it's actually a very good English dub if you don't wanna mess with subtitles. Me, I'm a purist, and I normally HATE dubs with the fire of a thousand blue stars, but now and then some company puts a bit of effort into it, and GiTS is one of the few that are good. Still, I'm watching it subbed off of my hard drive, if anything else to keep myself in a bit of practice with my Japanese. Seriously, I highly recommend this series for just about anyone, even if anime normally triggers a, "Ugh, creepy porn-fanatics" reflex. Like the episode I'm on now, where the Tachikoma (networked Artificial Intelligences) debate the concept of what it is to have individuality and a "soul" or "self" is pretty freaking interesting.

And to get back on topic, here's Sassy happily asleep atop the laundry hamper. (Old pic that I've posted before, but again, I'm still away from home.)

[i60.photobucket.com image 640x480]

We have the series on disk. Did not think I would like it, but, I think I am a wee bit addicted. The Tachikomas are hysterical. They have an almost cat like curiousity, and get into about as much trouble...

I would try to get a pic of Eli on the patio, but I hate to disturb the sun bath...

quantum_jellyroll: because in Indy, it's against the law to drive over a firehose.

The problem is that driving over the line can cause it to burst either the line itself or the coupling. If you're inside a burning building with a hose line that suddenly goes dry your whole day goes bad in a hurry. I know, it's happened to me a few times.

Sun Spot

Here sit and while away
The hours of the day.

Alone in the light
Such a beautiful sight,

Sunlight on the fur,
Listen and we'll purr.

Until at the last the heat,
Makes us beat a hasty retreat.

We hide in the Shade,
Contemplate the Blades.

Until at last the Sun does set
We appear at the door to be let,

Into our home so comfy and warm,
Onto your chair we'll swarm.

And snuggle in for a well deserved nap!

Having totally missed being able to say GoodMeowning due to mis-reading & -interpreting a msg on my Most Visited that came up last night, about which I commented privately, entirely out of turn, to several, am here at last.
balisane, my very sincere condolences on the loss of Sunny who you fostered.
CDK, followed your linkie & like a fool copied it. Need to make an extra save with extra notes.
Am jumping the gun, seemingly, on trying to list deductibles, because they're all needed for a report due quite shortly. Having trouble reading some because I don't/didn't understand opening .htm files in a browser. Didn't think I could, so got yelled at.

At ft of pg 6 at last; coulda commented last time about the good pic with the good eyes & verse adapted from Tolkien fetched by Mock26.
Good wishes for CDK, Mrs CDK & Cooper for the time needed at the vet. Hope it's productive & solves much of the difficulty. Maybe "solved" by now unless Cooper's vet runs late hours if as & when needed on Saturdays.
Last time I checked my e-mail, there was nothing there from AlienNarrr! The ding of "incoming" there prompted me to minimize this, which can be done without Losing All Typing & Pix, to see who from. 2 other interestings, but nix from her.

CATS..AAARRRRRGGH!

D'Artagnan and Raven had a vet appointment this morning to get their ears reamed checked and cleaned if necessary...and so what does D'Artagnan do but go AWOL until 2:30PM...when he comes sailing in the window and proceeds to charm my case manager with his waving tail and big creaky purr (not to mention anklewinds and headbumps) "Such a friendly kitty!" she exclaims, scritching his big royal head...
No really...the boy has a big, regal noggin...very handsome, actually...

Then Raven starts in with boxing the chains hanging from the light fixture in the computer room. I decide I want a pic of this for comparison to the one I took two weeks ago (she's having a growth spurt) and what does she do but decide to take a nap instead?

And now Wimsey (all 14 lbs of him) wants to cuddle in my left arm while I'm trying to read the Caturday stuff...that boy is just TOO DAMN BIG (not fat, just he's a BIG CAT) for an extended one-arm cuddle.

I have NO IDEA where Riktor is or what he's doing...and it's probably best that way.

But I love them and can't see myself doing without them...and wouldn't want to either.
Hope they don't try to 'help' too much with the painting I've got to do in the bathroom...means baths (and minor reconstructive surgery) all around if they do.

/ Yeah, they're sweet, cooperative and trusting...but I've never had to bathe Riktor or D'Artagnan...and I'd sorta like to keep it that way. Those boys tend to play by their own rules...and they have the teeth, claws, muscle, and speed to enforce them.

D'Artagnan being all regal (Riktor in the background)...

Wheeee. Just spent a while backing up data and doing clean-up on dead/useless files. My system is a bit less cluttered and my files a bit more safe! :)

Oh, I was going through my DevArt inbox and found this:

fc08.deviantart.net

I'm quite partial to this artist's work, and found her some years before I ever found DevArt. Her page can be found here, and pops neatly into a new window.

...Now if I can just remember if it's F3 or F7 that lets me boot into safe mode, so that I can clean those last two *EXTREME PROFANITY* Flash remnants off of my second hard drive. Screw you so hard with a rusted, spiked pole, Adobe, for being such douchebags about trying to remove old and useless files, SCREW YOU.
