Its funny how in political radio talk-show land, the anonymous caller alleging secret documents is accepted as enough evidence. Actual professionals can't just point out the secret document doesn't exist, they must be the ones to do actual research: "Have they dug into it, have they filed FOIA requests, have they interviewed numerous attendees, etc.?", burdens of proof callers don't have to meet.

You might as well ask: "Who are you going to believe about a supposed link between vaccines and Autism: 1. A former game-show host and one-time Playmate of the Year, or 2. Thousands of actual doctors?"

Never underestimate the incredible stupidity of deluded people in large groups feeding off of each others' forehead-slappingly lame-brained paranoia.

And they're the very same people that claim Obama's birth certificate is a forgery.

I'd be satisfied if they merely agreed to let an anonymous radio show caller perform their next brain surgery.

This was also bogus info posing as truth: "...the fact that there will be limits on medical treatment under Obamacare is obvious, analysts have confirmed." Really? Which ones? Where in the bill does this say it?

For a bunch of people who keep crying that Obama spends too much, any time the current administration tries to cut costs they scream bloody murder.

All I know is that this policy is a threat to America's current system of infinite medical care for all people always.

FTA: Levin, however, said the denials are not convincing.

Therein lies the rub on conservative talk radio and right wing nutjob publications. It's the new standard. We can say anything we want and claim it as truth, and if you can't drown us out with facts over our shouts of lalalalalalalalalalala -- we're not wrong.

And nearly 50% of the country accepts this shiat, for whatever reason.

nothing in tfa about "thousands of brain surgeons" refuting this.

but tfa does have this:

"Nevertheless, the fact that there will be limits on medical treatment under Obamacare is obvious, analysts have confirmed. The question is how such limits are characterized."

some it is a matter of what the limits are called. some call them death panels, some call them "bureaucratic caused disasters".

They've existed for decades.

The stunning statements from the man who was interviewed by radio show host Mark Levin

I stopped reading TFA right there. Mark Levin is what happens when you take the conspiracy theories and craziest aspects of every major right wing talk show host, boil it down to its purest essence, and pour it into a vaguely human-shaped mold. I've caught bits of him on KABC am790, he makes Michele Bachmann look perfectly sane in comparison.

A Terrible Human: Are they honestly taking a guy with absolutely no proof besides him saying he totally went to a conference and he's a doctor as proof of this happening? Guess they all got free lobotomies.

But the call screener says the guy is totally legit so your argument is invalid.

If any shills show up defending this, put them on the ignore list. They are obviously twats who need not be taken seriously ever again.

Jesus. What the fark has this country come too?

Want to really laugh your ass off at how awful talk radio has become? Google "Greg Budell". He operates an ear bleedingly awful talk radio program in Alabama. All the standard boxes are ticked during one of his "off meds" broadcasts. Moral screeching, racism, "omg socializm", Fartbama, etc.

One problem with this, though, is that his own history is anything but one you'd expect from a Conservative. You see, Budell was a shock jock in Miami in the early 80s; basically a Howard Stern Lite. In very public fashion, this guy managed to fark his own life up and destroy his career through heavy cocaine addiction, alcoholism, and all the assorted instability that comes with it. If you Google "Greg Budell cocaine", several articles will come up detailing his crash and burn.

Despite all of this, he not only feels morally righteous enough to browbeat everyone else about morality, but his sixtooth audience laps it up like antifreeze. The only saving grace is that his show is so bad that there's no way he'll ever play to a wider audience.

Talk radio listeners are easily led sheep. Nothing will ever change that.

Not saying the radio caller was true. But the AANS is a trade group that may represent thousands of neurosurgeons, they are not in fact thousands of neuro surgeons. I doubt they talked to everyone even at the conference mentioned. So subby, stop with the hyperbole. We do know that efforts have been made in other countries with socialized medicine to remove various surgeries from the standard governmental care. To think that Medicare won't disallow some treatments at some point in the future is quite naive. The whole Medicare as any damn procedure grandpa wants experiment can't last forever, it's unsustainable.

2012-01-05 10:04:58 PM
Stop complaining and get started on your own false rumours

"Republicans to eliminate all Medicare for over 60 year olds"

"Bain Capital ran dolphin canning factory"

"Santorum advocating castration for homosexuals"

"Compulsory prayers in schools by next year"

"I'm picking Sarah as my VP ( )"

I'm sure the creatives can improve on these

There was nothing in the article about "thousands of actual brain surgeons," but I think subby can be forgiven in his/her attempt to make a readable headline. I think subby was referring to this particular line (FTA): "[T]he American Association of Neurological Surgeons and another related group, which, when contacted by WND, denied that any such presentation took place, or that the man was, in fact, a physician at all."

Perhaps subby was taking a guess that the AANS has thousands of members, presumptively brain surgeons, and that the association denied the existence of the evidence the caller based his conjecture upon. I think the idea was less about denying that, like in all private insurance schemes, some people may be denied specific treatments, and more about how a random caller was given a tremendous amount of weight as opposed to an entire professional organization.

Every day, someone new claiming to be some sort of doctor should call in to Levin's show with seekrit info on Obamacare. See how gullible he is.

Either of which are preferable to what we have, "the insurance company giggles with glee because they finally found an excuse (like the "pre existing condition" of having had acne when you were 13) to let you die while they raise rates by a double-digit percentage again this year, forcing even more unworthy peasants off their rolls."

Every developed country in the world except the US has universal healthcare in some form. They all have average lifespans comparable to or exceeding those of Americans, yet not one of them spends half as much per capita. There is no clearer proof that the US privatized healthcare model is a catastrophic failure by every sane metric.
