At his court appearance Bower told Lehigh County Judge Robert Steinberg he's a changed man since he stopped drinking. He says he's pursuing his General Educational Development diploma after dropping out of high school.

Bower still faces case on charges including resisting arrest, escape and public drunkenness in neighboring Berks County.

This guy has a bright future in Pennslyvania state politics.

He's one religious conversion away from being president.*

*If his family is rich and/or connected, which I'm assuming it is if he won an election at 19.

People in this town elected a high school dropout to their council? It must really be a Republican community.

That is what stuck out for me. The asshole doesn't even have a high school diploma. Who in the hell are these people that voted for him?

He took care of so much on just one trip to the courthouse! That's what it takes to get the government working again!

Future Congressman. I'll bet he jumps to national politics by the time he's 30.

But it also says HE had a girlfriend, not SHE had a girlfriend so that would mean there was a chance it was a Republican. Other than that, his behavior is pure Democrat.

Election Results

This kid won his seat with 136 votes. Just for the perspective, back when I was his age, I got 137 votes out of my joke campaign for Carnegie Mellon student body president, and that was barely good enough for 4th place.

In this day and age, how do people slip out of handcuffs? It seems like the basic handcuff technology is pretty solid, and applying them securely to a suspect seems like a straightforward process. Do some suspects just have an unusual hand structure that makes it almost as narrow as their wrist? Are cops leaving them too loose out of fear of harm to suspects/civil liability? Is there some sort of secret defect in handcuff technology? Can somebody more in tune with the criminal element explain this to me?

I lost 2 years ago when I ran, but then got appointed to a vacant seat mid-way through last year and ran unopposed last November. So, not really very hard. Our city only has 3,000 people, so most elections are uncontested.

\Now if you'll excuse me, I need to buy some bricks and vodak...

He finished 4th, too. Out of 4 candidates. For 4 positions. Give the Alburtian voters some slack.
