I had a kid on my freshman dorm hall that did that. Brilliant kid, but stupid is as stupid does. He did it while with his family while they were all applying for passports, I believe. I hear it's kind of common. I remember last year a US Senate staffer did the same thing while going in to work.

How hard is it to, you know, leave that shiat at home?

?I hate seeing people getting busted for pot
//but sometimes the people make it too damn easy

Every time I go to the airport I have to check my bag and jacket in every pocket to make sure nothing has been forgotten.

I saw some dummy get popped for the same thing at the courthouse I work at. He pulled out the bag of weed along with his keys and put it in the bowl before walking through the metal detector.

"arrested and charged with Possession of Drugs within 1,000 Feet of a School, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia."

This is just another example of why the war on drugs needs to end

When I was clerking at the County Courthouse in Omaha, I heard a story from the deputies there that some guy forgot he had a bong in his backpack when he was going through security.

When I was a young dumbass I went into a superior courthouse with a line of coke that was in a cellophane that I forgot about in my wallet, lucky for me my whiteness prevented a serious going over.

I would have dressed up like a janitor and started cleaning the entire building, just to be sure they bought it. I don't care if it would have taken all day to pull it off.

That sure sounds like a pothead plan to me.

Marijuana does not present a security threat at a courthouse. A courthouse has no business trying to carry out laws.

I walked into a courthouse to get some paperwork and forgot I had a couple jays in the back of my Marlboro pack, which was the style at the time. The box pack was half empty, had a Bic lighter in it too so it set off the detector. The guard took the pack from me, looked in it and all that and gave it back. Never looked behind the foil.

Good day for me.

I work at a county courthouse and it seems someone gets busted going through the security check on about a weekly basis.

Heh, my brother, Knight1789 has a great story involving watching someone go through courthouse security.

You've got a problem if you need to take your bag of weed to court.

That problem? Stupidity. Smoke at home, dumbass.

This hardened criminal had a whopping 0.71 ounces of pot. Now the taxpayers of Florida will have to spend around $100,000 to try and incarcerate him. Damn but drug laws are stooopid.

This made me giggle. I put a couple of jays on a pack of Mudburgs once, too. I was in the Army Reserve and was on training in the middle of nowhere. It had been a hard day and my intention was for a buddy and I to wander off to the woods and get high after dark. A major knew I smoked and asked for a butt. Without thinking, I whipped out the pack and gave it the shake. Up pops a joint. Whoops. Anyway, he was a reservist, too, and probably a head. He just pulled it and gave it a sniff and said he wasn't up for that much fun just then. I was lucky it wasn't one of those RA hard-asses. After that I got one of those small wooden boxes that'll hold about four jays to keep my stash in.

Going to court can be stressful. He probably just needed a few tokes to relax a bit before his drug possession trial.

As someone who goes to court with frequency I can assure this sort of stupidity happens, regularly.

The one time I was in court for something I did they were dragging a guy out that had multiple DUIs. He was drunk and they found meth on him. My lawyer said it happens a lot.

My experience with pot heads is that most of them were pretty stupid before they ever started smoking. I don't think a few extra brain cells would make much of a difference.

So, if I understand you correctly this man should have consumed more dope...just to overcome his innate stupidity.....interesting.

I wonder if he can use that in his defense?

sounds like someone took a plea and turned "intention to distribute" into "Paraphernalia"

/what's with the bright yellow bag?

Typical pothead.

I have nothing against smoking pot.
I think it should be legal.
However it's not.

My idiot brother drives around with his bag in his car all the damned time. He's not the safest driver in the world. He's been in 5 or 6 accidents and numerous other tickets for speeding and such. He's even been arrested already for possession of weed after being pulled over. Yet the idiot still does it. He's not even trying to be tricky about it. He'll keep it in his Marlboro case like cops never think to check there, or in the center console in a plastic baggie.

The sad thing is that he's not really an idiot. He's a smart guy who is just an idiot when it comes with his weed.

well considering there are roughly 22 million of us in the US alone my guess is the typical "pot head" is actually a pretty decent person with a job etc.

It is only the outliers that you read about.

Fubegra: I guess that answers the question of how much weed could a weed-chucker chuck if a weed-chucker could chuck weed.

a weed chucker would chuck as much weed as a weed chucker could chuck if a wood chucker could chuck weed.

I was doing work for a bank and someone mailed in a bag of pot. I suspect some pot-head was wondering why he got a bundle of checks in the mail.

Years ago (just out of high school) I was buying a case of beer for me and my friends to drink in the back of the McDonald's, as we did every Friday night. I was the one buying it, because I never got carded. After standing in a line of maybe six people buying groceries, holding the case of beer in both hands (I'm pretty sure it was Lowenbrau- yikes), I finally get up to the conveyor belt and I set the case of beer down. As I did that, something flicked just barely out of my vision, and so I looked further down. Sticking up out of my shirt pocket was about a half ounce of weed, and it had been there the whole time, from my getting out of the car, walking across the parking lot, through the store all the way to the back to get the beer, and back to standing in line. Not wanting to draw attention to myself suddenly, I didn;t wan't to just grab it and stuff it in my pants pocket, so I casually looked around to see if anyone was looking, picked my moment and I removed the weed from my shirt pocket and transferred it to my pants. When I turned back around, I was up to the cashier, and she was talking to a police officer- I almost shiat my pants... Turned out, he was her boyfriend, and apparently no one had seen anything. I walked out with my weed and a case of beer for me and my underage friends to drink- the cop even told me to enjoy the evening..!

Visit the courthouse in Santa Barbara sometime, it is a beautiful building and I have got high there many times. When I was younger and did that sort of thing.

Wally007: the cop even told me to enjoy the evening

I got "busted" by cops in New Zealand for smoking leaf (really shiatty stuff, hey I was broke, I live in BC Canada now, much better)

The cop took my car keys off me, then gave them back to me 2 hours later.
(I had no plans on driving, I biked, he was just making sure)
No record for it, no arrest, etc.. I cannot fault any part of this equation morally or otherwise.

// dont smoke pot in parks where cops jog
/ NZ is a good place
// so is BC
