I wonder if it will have the quality built in like all that "great" Indian software

The same company owns Jaguar and is the biggest manufacturer of heavy trucks on the planet. I'll leave you to ponder that.

The car never made sense to me considering the used car. May be it make sense in India?

Masso: The car never made sense to me considering the used car. May be it make sense in India?

Meakes sense in Indian, where 55,000 people enter the middle class every day, and families frequently travel (unsafely) on motor scooters. The Nano was designed to provide cheap transport at a price point these families could afford (I think it was one month's salary).

It was a good ideal, but a better one would be to build a massive new public-transit system in India which can actually handle the volume it sees.

Well, but is it cheaper than a cheap used car or a pick up over there?

Dude, that's not cool. My Nana went tata up. She only had one.

/She started off with two but lost one somewhere along the line.
//Really, she was a Rosie the Riveter.

It depends. Cars stolen in the states that are worth less than $10,000 are being sold overseas for over $20,000 in some cases. Most sell for more than their US Blue Book value.

/And you have to avoid the Dead Cow Prostitute license plates.

Any government agents monitoring my internet usage are now wondering why I just Googled "dead cow prostitute license plates".

I'm surprised that Steve Jobs didn't try to destroy them before he breathed his last breath.

Not going to happen any time soon. Too much corruption in various levels of government. Infrastructure is actually costs money to build, and those costs interfere with the skim.

Good on your Nana.

I live near the Rosie the Riveter National Historical Site (in Richmond, California)

Fun fact: The "Rosies" were actually welders - welding was cheaper and faster.

They wanted me to drive a small prefab, and I said "Nano"

it depends on if its locally made or foreign made (the latter have import tarrifs of 100%)

until recently local production was mostly crap, so the used car market is probably laughable. a search of Maruti-Suzki's (the biggest car company in India) certified used car program shows just 240 cars IN ALL OF INDIA (!!!!) available for under 150k rupees.

Welders? Perhaps for the ship building industry. Certainly not for aircraft.

/anyways, 'rivetting' was only one of thousands of wartime jobs.

The only propaganda is that Jobs still had the capacity.

/Felt sorry for the cancer.
